[PS3] Killzone 3

So ive completed Killzone 3, what a great game. Probably the most fun ive had with a game for years, and i think a lot of that has to do with Move. Its the first game i think ive ever played where ive started a new game directly after completeing it. Played the whole thing through in one session, probably took around 7 hours in total. Really dont understand some of the lower review scores. Maybe without move (or for those that have done a lot of FPS gaming on Wii?) it doesnt feel so fresh and unique i guess. For me it was a real treat from start to finish. 10/10 and i havent even played the multiplayer yet outside of the beta map. Best FPS campaign i have played in recent years and the only FPS that comes close to the amount of fun i had with this was the original Halo.

What's your recommended difficulty ?

I'm thinking of playing with DS3 first, and then another round with Move.

EDIT: I'm asking because the AI at higher difficulty is said to be "sublime" according to this post:

I played on normal with move which was perfect for me but if you like more of a challenge then the next mode up is probably best. With DS3 normal is probably fine. AI is great even on normal but i can see that being suppressed more by the enemy would let them move around more. Play it with move first, for me it turned it from being just another great FPS to a turning point in the genre along the lines of the original halo, playing with DS3 first will probably make the whole experience less impactful imo.

Actually the demo looked quite average, although those screens above look a bit better.

Average compared to what? I have a high end gaming rig and a FRAPS folder loaded with 1920x1080p screens of the latest games running with maxed out settings. There was nothing "quite average" about the looks of KZ3 demo, it looks immensely impressive for a console game.

Yeah it's so average that's the reason why virtually every gaming sites and majority of gamers were claiming it to be one of if not the best looking console game to date right:LOL:?
Well, it's a shame you can't appreciate it as rest of us do.

Hmm… good point. I should try Move first; if I cannot take it, switch back to DS3.

How about you explain what's impressive about it? They certainly look good, but what's "incredible" about them?

Hyperbole is hyperbole ;)
Well, you can start with the scale, draw distance, amount of smoke, gun model, god rays, character models, and amount of AA all on screen at the same time. What's the opposite of hyberbole? ;)

It's true that there's nothing particulary impressive about those shots.

I'll say art direction is nice and there is nice touches but technically I agree. The shots below stands out. Very much remniscent of F3/NV/UE3. Plus minus things ofcourse and not in motion but only thing in that pic holding it up is actually the sky(box) and weapon IMO in most of them.

Well, you can start with the scale, draw distance,
Both low, it's just a corridor.
amount of smoke
Low res.
gun model,
Yeah that's great.
Fake, god rays. They don't react to geometry passing through them.
character models
They're OK.
and amount of AA all on screen at the same time. What's the opposite of hyberbole? ;)
AA is good too (there's some shimmering though).

All in all you're explanation is unsatisfactory. It could mean that you simply have low standards in the first place :)

This particular shots are average at best.

The draw distance, texture, polycount, AF, IQ in generally it's pretty far distant to average, but opinion it's just opinion, how many others...
