The lighting is quite flat, low res effects and textures everywhere, very average technically.

But especially the lighting is where it is falling behind.

Killzone 2 was amazing for it's day, but Killzone 3 is just, yawn.

ahm......Is that a sarcasm? Just not sure :???:
Everything you said, I see the opposite

I saw the pics , that's exactly why i asked .

It's plain obvious if you actually look at them and if more textures do actually have normal mapping then the lighting is cheap solution that dont even affect mapping correctly or at all depending on lightsource type. But if it's fine for you then fine, having low standards aint really a sin.

How exactly does the lighting not affect the normalmaps? I see per pixel lighting on Normalmaps everywhere, maybe not so clear on the far distant objects but that's simply LOD bias isn't it?

You live in a strange dimension :???:

Don't waste you time dude, every 'haters' here have a long history of ps3 biasis, I'm not really surprise to read the same things for a years from the same people... don't let me wrong, I'm not try to offence anyone but really reading kz3 is 'yawn', flat and so on, it's pretty ridicolous... I don't know so many game with use deferred rendering, motion blur x screen, MLAA, those animations & residual smoke in the screen etc etc... but you know I have low standard taste  My apoligize mod, but when it's enough, it's enough...

Dont know how psn account are free.
And bricking a console don't know if that is legal to do.

Black Ops has some way of preventing people from playing with modified discs. I'm just hoping the Killzone3 system wasn't relying solely on the PS3 security. This is a recent problem late in the Killzone3 dev cycle. I'm very confident they'll have it sorted out, but it would really suck if people started hacking the game.

Exactly which screenshots/textures do you think are simply not normal mapped :?: There are plenty that are. I'm not sure what you mean by the lighting affecting them incorrectly either.

There is a trick going on with a huge difference between the resolution of color maps and normal maps, but that's only really evident on close ups of characters. It can make the result look like there's no normal mapping because of the huge texel size, it's like a 1:16 ratio or so.

Video on Killzone 3 and Home integration. That Jetpack in Home looks nice:

...

I wouldn't really call that integration. It's pretty much a Killzone skin for Home and a mini-game. Home is still basically balls.

Home isn't 'basically balls'. It may not be for you, but it's pretty good now. I particularly like the group chat features that were added recently, but everything else about it has been greatly polished as well. Al we really need now is that games support launching from Home on day one for all multi-player enabled games (you can already start any game from Home and return to Home afterwards, leaving your avatar in Home with a 'now playing game x' tag. I really wish they'd push that a little more, and I am curious to see if Killzone 3 will support it day one.

Man, Guerilla games sure know how to build atmosphere. The kind of sites you don't see everyday. Kz3 is taking more of an artistic approach, in contrast to kz2, I'm loving it a whole lot more. You can practically taste the dead dry debris, speechless.......... (oh,how do I spoiler the image?)
