Yap, I don't see the Helghans as the bad guys. If Visari looks evil now, hopefully we find ISA committing atrocity in KZ3 to confuse the set up of the war. :p

We may have already have that with Rico killing off Visari. And the ISA not having approval from earth to attack Helghan. It's a good starting point to build upon.

I hope that this time, GG includes more background from this rather rich universe right into the game (and not on their homepage)!

No I meant shadow casted on the smoke itself. I remember seeing it in some place.
Ive been doing that for at least 5 years, its not technically that difficult www.zedzeek.com/junk/CC_13-06-2006.avi

WRT killzone3, leave the engine alone (just a few minor tweaks, its near perfect already)
just focus on gameplay, bring in guys off the street who have never playtested it before + hear what they dislike, like. I believe the major complaint with kz2 were the controls

I wouldn't know. I only know that all the individual elements add up to form a very compelling final experience. I don't think it's merely what KZ2 was doing, but rather how (artfully/creatively/technically) they implemented and integrated them that matter the most.

I think they should fix the load time in SP. I prefer the MP experience more than the SP one because of the loading along the way (in SP).

Agree with the controls. I think some gamers dislike the narrow field of vision also.

I hope this time that GG decides to show not too much before releasing the game - in the best case: show nothing!
I had the feeling back then that they were so proud about KZ2, that they wanted everyone to see as soon and as much as possible, so a lot of reviewers and gamers already new half of the game when it hit...

Blame the preview code which they handed out to so many people....it had almost 4 hours of gameplay, & there was no embargo by GG over releasing videos from the preview code.

Yeah, the micro pauses especially from the 2nd level were annoying, the PR guy kept telling us it'll be fixed in the retail version but was never. Hope they utilize a better streaming engine this time.

Ha ha, they were on the hook to spam KZ2 because of the 2005 trailer.

The unveiling on a theater screen was great because they managed to fool the audience of press. :)

The things I want to see most are:
1. Melee (How they do it, hopefully keeping the top notch enemy animation _and_ AI)
2. Stereoscopic 3D
3. Put Rico in dire situation (Buahahaha)

I want some missions where I fight for the good guys...ie. the Helghans.
Ain't no fun in being stuck to play as the evil side :|

That said...there were few complains towards KZ2 that I never understood:

1) Game lacks colors, is all gray...even when blur, green & yellow are the dominant colors in the game & there's barely any place apart from Radec academy in multiplayer which actually looks gray. (this is that "annoying" sort of complain btw)

2) Game has uninspiring & bad art. This is something which always left me in circles, I mean even if the art isn't appealing to someone it should be clearly apparent that the game has its own identity & a lot of love & time has been put into the art department.

- The multiplayer will feature small vehicles that can be used
- The player can choose from 8 different classes
- The classes can be personalized with a new reward system
- But only the characters appearance and the perks can be changed
- Guerilla Games is also working on a 2 player coop mode
- And on a 4 player objective coop mode
- The game is planned to be released in May 2011

Looking good. I like all the foliage. Odd aspect though.

I really hope the co-op is available in splitscreen

Looking good but for me to even consider KZ3 a few things will have to change.

1. Controls. I had gotten rid of the game by the time they patched in the "high precision" control scheme thus I'm not sure of it's effects. Hoping there's a demo where I can try out the controls first as this really soured the gameplay for me.

2. A full grown character. Looking for navel lint isn't my idea of fun so I hope they teach the main character to stand up or give him prosthetic limbs to make him taller.

3. Wider FOV.

4. Story and characters worth caring about.

The above factors really made the game a chore to sit through and finish. My issues with the game can easily be addressed and I'm certainly hoping they will be corrected. 2 player story co-op would be awesome.

Where did you get that shot from ?

Interesting that their engine can do such a drastically different style from KZ2. As expected, it's different from the signature KZ2 look, and can support co-op to meet/exceed stereoscopic 3D requirements (so non-3DTV folks won't complain).

The screenshot seems to show melee weapons.

That Helghast soldier should be camouflaged though. Are they really on Helghan ? So many greens !

EDIT: MLAA ? Is this really KZ3 ? ^_^
