[PS3] Killzone 2

The fight leading up to it was great...they don't infinitely spawn...you kill the ones who come through and they are dead forever. There are just lots of them. The final battle...was hard...made me friggin scared, and was slightly annoying and random/pointless. But satisfying nonetheless. Unlike the stupid ATAC

Well I gave up on killing them all,
and just ran past most of them,
which worked surprising well.

The other bosses were pretty good.
I thought the ATAC was the best. That thing will have you down in just few seconds, and it moves around like crazy. Then you find out how to destroy it, and it becomes pretty easy.

I swear there is at least one section with some infinite respawning going in Visari Hammer. The Higs just keep coming and coming in an endless tide.
The part just before the Palace is ridiculously hard. The engine performance suffers too. The framerate is decent when you're behind cover, but go out into the open and it's in the mid-to-low 20s. The lighting is incredible though, along with the various atmospheric effects.
Cant wait to see what this developer cooks up for KZ3, cause if the latter half of KZ2 is any indication, then KZ3's SP will be serious f*cking business.

Don't worry mate. I'll be there soon, infinite spawning or not. :)

R2 has a similar section (The Chicago bridge). I thought it's infinite, but some people said if you fight long enough, you'll exhaust them.

I hear ya, just beat the game myself last night and what a ride that was. The Visari's Palace was indeed one of the most intense level and I agree it appeared to have an infinite spawn for enemies though I went passed them without killing them all. The framerate didn't seem to affect me at all, I thought it's smooth enough all the way. I actually enjoyed the Cruiser level more in terms of variety and action sequence.

Though I did know how to destroy it , I had some trouble. Now on my Elite playthrough
I discovered the tunnel and it was almost a piece of cake

I sneaked in some time to play. The freaking game has too much loading ! No wonder Edge rated it down. It can get really irritating at times. Will see if later levels improve.

It's a very pretty game though. I kept wandering around like in an RPG game, which made the game loaded even more. It's a load fest ! :)

The gunfight with Helghast is solid, fun and immersive. Best way to enjoy it is to run in and flank them. Like someone said above, the turrets are not bullet proof. I got killed the first time.

The demo level timing is also a tiny bit different.

[Hurry back to work]

On the 2nd level now and omg it looks even better then I thought, easy the best graphics on consoles.

The texture under the destructible walls is very detailed and had me amazed that even it looks great:oops: Best atmosphere ever in a game that I played.

Very fun so far:D

An elite playthrough?
Good luck with that man, I'm at the very last gameplay segment of the campaign (Veteran) and I dont have a clue how any sane person would want to do this particular fight on a difficulty higher than Veteran. On Elite, the entire level would be like the Ninja Gaiden Black of fps'.

On another note, I know the critics panned the story for entirely legitimate reasons, but I do sort of like that the game is reinforcing this sort of "you fucked us and we're gunna fuck you right back" circle of madness that exists between the ISA and the Helghast. The game just makes it so abundantly clear that both sides have dirt on their hands.

I'm going to start over, I tried veteran and could not get past the demo part. The AI was #$%&ing me up. I saw at least six people playing KZ2 on my friends list just now, pretty cool.

Whaat ?! Can't beat the demo level ? That hard huh... I'll certainly give it a go.

I think normal is nice so far (Smooth ride in level 1). I'm sure things will turn ugly soon.

Hmm, respawning enemies?
They made COD4 an absolute bitch to play on harder levels.
With Killzone 2's controls and higher enemy HPs this may make sections with respawners very hard indeed.

I've started playing on veteran, do I need to change difficulty?

PS: and can someone please tell me how to set match options in skirmish (offline vs bots) mode?

..still having freezing problems. First with the demo, now with the full game. Funny that Little Big Planet had the same issue. All my other games/movies/media work with no problem so I'm not sure if it's my PS3 or some bug specific to certain PS3 models. I have a 20GB model with an upgraded 120GD hdd.

Freezing aside, that hasn't stopped me from playing through the game. :D

At least it saves my last check point...makes it much less frustrating. I think I'm almost to the end.

I just beat the Arc Trooper in 6 seconds (It was sort of by accident)! But then of course he blew up in my face, lol! Still got a trophy though.

This is no CoD4 son. :)

I replayed level one in Veteran. There is no respawning enemies.
It's actually pretty fun (More difficult than equivalent difficulty in Resistance I think). Tough because you can only take very little hit (or enemy damage is greater... depending on the weapon). The AI is also faster, more fierce and more mobile. Damn "snipers" would take a pop shot and get under cover quickly. They also throw grenades more often. Had to change position quickly and frequently to offset their overall advantages. Died about 10 times in the entire level.

If this is level one, Veteran may get frustrating in later levels. You can switch difficulty for each level though.

Sorry, focusing on SP right now !

EDIT: Garza is a great buddy in combat. Helped me get past a few tight situations (ran out of ammo !). He can be a poor companion when the route is narrow though (He may block the way forward during encounters).

The intro is awesome too. Love the "3D" sound stage !

Its not so bad as CoD because it only happens in a few places.

On the bridge level.
You'll need to take down the guy on the AA gun to stop his buddies from respawning in front of him.
On the train level.
You'll need to blow up a tank to keep the helghasts from rushing in.
And in the last level. They may or may not be infinite here, but there are a lot of them. And if you rush forwards, you can see the appearing in places you've previously cleared. This is the only place were it makes the game more difficult, but then again, that's fitting for a last level.

The infinite respawns in that section of the 6th level really pissed me off.
I also wish that the whole section was longer...should have been an entire level rather than a subsection of a level.
