I have another annoyance to add - the kill count in the leader board during the game is very misleading. If you do lots of headshots (and you have the headshot medal), you'll get effectively 2 points which are displayed as 2 kills in that screen - however, the real statistics don't count these as 2 kills, but only as 1. So even if you think you're having great K/D ratios during the game, in the realworld it's probably a bit less. This also includes shooting down enemy bots etc (all counted as a kill as well - but not in the main statistics).
Also, as per my last post with my anger being directed towards games not counted - that game that didn't show up yesterday? Never showed up. Even on the killzone.com site, I can't view any logs of that match. Having played another longer session last night, I'm now thinking that the first game is never counted - or perhaps you have to join a game from the beginning to rack up the points?
Apart from that though, I have nothing but praise for this game. I played RFOM extensively, played a lot of CoD5 and even if CoD is hard to beat when it comes to feel and gameplay - KillZone2 really stands on its own and I enjoy the multiplayer a lot more due to the deep gameplay. Unlocking classes, using airbots, setting up turrets, placing spawn points, disguised enemies, being medics... it's great! This puts it above all the other shooters in my books and really gives a strategic element.
With the latest tweaks in controls, the game is so much more responsive and IMO perfect. Also, the slightly dumbed down Assault class, weaker turrets and especially the stronger airbots - it now really requires a lot of teamwork and strategic thinking to gain an advantage over another team. I still think the airbots are perhaps too strong so it really requires a mechanic to place his turrets to bring them down (because shooting them down with the rifle will get you certainly killed by others in the mean time).
Playing with friends is much less flawless now too. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better already.
I really hope they keep the levels and add-ons coming for this game so that it stays alive for a long time. This is just too much fun to stop playing.
BTW: Nice that you were able to join Arwin! Sorry about my lack of headset. Tried looking for it in the hectic battle, but when I did, I noticed the batteries were down.
