[PS3] Killzone 2

patsu - are you sure you don't get the rewards? I got kicked out of a game a few times while playing on the weekend due to some problems with PSN and I'm fairly sure I was rewarded the points that I achieved in the time I played. Obviously, I didn't receive the 1.5 bonus, but I'm fairly sure the kills/deaths were counted.

Hmm... what about the ribbons and badges, and mission objective results ? Are they counted ? Since I didn't see the stats screen, I assumed it's not tallied/committed until after all the rounds.

I can see both pros and cons in what you are asking for. The cons are that people might simply start leaving if the game doesn't suit them and rep the rewards while they still can, making it a worse game for the rest of the participants. Perhaps if you have to complete a mission objective to get the points wouldn't be so bad...

Yeah, I meant rewarding after each round (Not in the middle of a round). Since I usually let the computer auto-select my faction (ISA or Helghast), it does not make a difference whether I play all 7 rounds (or not).

But yeah, perhaps stick to body count games then. By default, they're 5 minutes matches, although most people that only play bodycount games, usually set it to 20 minutes / 100 kills, though it still a lot shorter than battling through 7 mission objectives (the full lot) with each at least 5 minutes length.

I like the KZ2 objective games better than deathmatches (Body Count). It's the other way round for Resistance. That's why I always choose the warzones with objective games.

I have lost both ribbon and badges, and that is even after exiting the game directly after seeing that I was rewarded the badge. D:

I don't think ribbons and badges are rewarded. To be honest, I'm not even sure if you receive the points at all, as it's rather difficult to test, given that the online stats lag behind by a few minutes and I'm never sure if the points are from the game where I was disconnected or the game before. When you quit a game though, there's a screen "requesting stats" or something the like, so I assume that part of the points or statistics are saved. Even if you're disconnected from PSN, I think the stats are recorded (I can see the replays to my disconnected games after all).

I'm sincerely sorry to say that I have left the beyond3d clan effective immediately in favour of the GAFe clan. I wish we could have gotten the B3d clan to work (and I did wear the tag with pride for this forum), but since we barely even made it into each others games, it was slowely time to move on.

I still look forward to playing with everyone that I've added to my PSN friends list and for you, nothing will change (except for my clan tag). Feel free to join my games or give me a shout in PSN.

conceptics-US out.

Somethings cooking ! !

BTW, how are the new maps? Good, bad or Ugly? I mean both graphically and most importantly Gameplay wise.

Very impressive graphics wise. One is the ISA ship and the other is on a moving train. The moving train is very impressive. Can't say much gameplay wise as I haven't played them much, but very interesting IMO.

Yap, bought them. I heard some complains about the train level being too narrow for large player count. Overall impression seems positive so far.

I'm out of luck with this game. First I broke my controller, then my disc - not in any way intentionally!

I don't know how it happened but last night I inserted the disc in ps3 and it hadn't detected the game - up close inspection I had detected the disc is broken next to inner ring:

I don't know if it's the quality of bluray disc, its case, or, just me?!?

I'm very disappointed just because I've bought the DLC just 3 days earlier and can't play it. I just ordered the game from Game UK.

BTW the map of ISA ship it's great but at the train level it's a bit small.

PS: Is it possible to be covered by guarantee? I've bought from Play. (If the disc had 3RRoD I know it has been covered 8) - just kidding )

That's probably true (about the train level being a bit narrow) and one of the reasons why I have been avoiding it so far. I think there being two trains running side by side makes up for it somewhat and you have multiple levels you can battle your way through. What I find interesting (though not sure if good or bad) is that you can easily die by falling down the train or hitting pillars going through between the trains at high speed...

@russo: you can always try sending it to the publisher (in this case Sony). Typically they will send you a new disc for free I think. Obviously best to call them first for instructions. I remember this from when discs got scratched. It's sort of compensation for that you can't make backup copies I think, and the price of a physical disc is pretty low to begin with which helps such service be affordable. And it's typically also not abused a lot, because you need a damaged disc in return.

Thank you very much for your help. I'll try it right now 8).

My impressions:

I played mostly the singleplayer and tried some online and came to the conclusion that I could play R2 online instead of KZ2 online. But I like the SP part which feels luxurious with high production values and pretty varied gameplay. The weapons DO feel different and you have to play in a different style with different weapons. And the flame-thrower is evil!

Anyway, the game dragged a little bit in places, but it really picked up in the end. I like what Radec did when he was defeated :)

So, in the end it was a cool game, but when I was done with the SP I traded it for Motorstorm PR.

Just finished the SP. I cannot believe you people actually needed help with the whole Kill radec mission. I was rather stoned, but the whole encounter was fairly easy. (then again nothing in KZ2 @ veteran settings has been particularly challenging to me. Cover mode makes for easy gaming).

I dont see the challenging part, there aren't that many enemies that come for you, you got a team mate who can distract some of them, and you have cover mode. The helgasts mainly just rushing you from a known location, making it easy to prepare. Once the second floor opens up, things get even easier. Only remotely challenging thing was actually killing radec, but only due to the fact that it can take a while to do enough damage to him, all you got to do is to keep on running around and shotty him whenever he tries to knife you.
