Maybe cutscenes are prerendered? languages, sound, music, making off's... but still, 35GB is very big number ;)

EDIT: MGS4 has RT cutscenes and over 30GB... I dunno :p

Probably there are a lot of making off's (in HD) included.

Mhmm I doubt it , there's already a separate disk for the making of but not included in the normal edition of the game. Maybe they' ve put tons of locked DLC on the disk lol.
also according to french PSM3 review of the game the first playthrough is around 12 hours in normal difficulty I suppose. The game is supposedly the most beautiful PS3 game to date besting Uncharted 2.
The first GOW received tons of awards in 2005 If I remember. I guess GOW III will follow the same path.

For 60fps, you probably can't afford neither any GI nor SSAO.
You can have some sort of ambient lighting (with spherical harmonics, cubemaps etc) for the characters, but most of the images don't really look like that either, just a few point lights with high contrast. Then again I kinda think they're not the masters of screenshots either, I'll have to check the game out in person once it's released.

It is not solid 60 FPS like Dantes Inferno, it is 30-60 varying.

Personally I do not think it is one of the best looking games out there. If I did not know the game, and you showed me screens and told me it was "Mortal Kombat, Kano's Adventures" or something I would probably believe you.

Good that people who will review this game thinks otherwise ;)

Never heard of Kano's Adventure.

Mortal Kombat is a one-to-one fighting game. Even a noob like me know. I'd be surprised if you think GoW3 is MK. ^_^

It's probably a big mistake to judge GoW 3 with screenshots. First, you may not be able to find Kratos if they show the Titan screens. He'd be too small to catch compared to, say, the 2 games you mentioned. If they show the fighting scenes, one may not know the level is dynamic (i.e., you're fighting on a Titan). What's more, it's entirely possible to miss all the gluesome scenarios, and the sex mini-games.

Did you play the demo and watched the new trailer? I find it hard to believe that you can compare MC to GOW3 in graphics.

No, I think it is like MGS4. Even MGS4 had no such tricks. I read it somewhere, all the cut-scene was done in real time in MGS4. GOW3 might also be like that . I think GOW3 will be most impressive looking game. Trailer was epic

No, MGS4 had a handful of in-engine cutscenes (and those TV "shows"), but the sound files made up a majority of the data on the disc, if I remember correctly.

There are no CG cutscenes in GOW3! All in game cinematics.

that doesn't mean they are not pre-rendered (like in Uncharted 2). Developers like to brag these days about how the cutscenes use the "in-game" assets, but they conveniently forget to mention that they are not actually running realtime, but are mere (and biiiig) video files ;)

The first two God of War games had ALL cutscenes prerendered as well, regardless if they were CG or using in-game assets, so i'm guessing the third will go down the same route. Just guessing here, of course

Probably there are a lot of making off's (in HD) included.

There are over 3 hours of making of videos...but I'd expect the cutscenes are in-engine rendered, but then recorded as FMVs...to save on loading for one. There will be no install, like Uncharted 2.

Ya, and since its a God of War, it will be seamless "no loading" gameplay like GOW I and II and Uncharted 1 & 2 (and HAZE ;) ) !
The biggest point that you can't get up from an Uncharted and GOW sessions is that there are no breaks at all, its seamless world all along ! IT does end up in grumpy mornings, though, as the playtime exceeds the initial intention by hours  !

As i recall, MGS4 sound & video files was like 20gigs. 2ish gb for MGO and 5-7gb worth of game data.

They are in-engine, but not rendered in real time. It is very likely that there are scenes in the game that use the engine but are videos, not real-time rendering.

Well that hasn't been confirmed yet...just hypothesised. Would be amusing if the second only dual layer Blu-ray game was also to use real-time cutscenes.

The Euro game is over 40gbs :O

Then why is there different good looking real-time cutscenes, and pretty blocky video cutscenes in GOW Collection? And why do the cutscenes have variable framerate in GOW (check out DF's videos)?
