I've gotta agree, it does sound feasible to me too.

    I stand corrected then.
30 minute recharge is impressive, atleast to me anyways. :)

It's impressive, but not unheard of. Definitely appreciated. Even if it only lasts 10 hours, with a ~30 minute recharge time it wouldn't be so bad.

I'm surprised they aren't trying to charge more for this stuff. I like the price of the mem card adapter! And the JP game prices actually seem pretty reasonable compared to last gen (7k yen PS2 games were not uncommon, IIRC).

It seems as though Sony have flip-flopped on pricing and are trying to keep costs down. Which is understandable given the hefty price of the console.

As for battery tech, Sony are pioneers of rechargeable lithiums and have always been offering the best tech. Of course sometimes cutting edge has problems like exploding batteries... Still, it'd be nice if they could get a better PSP pack out. And really, they ought to be doing as much with fuel cells as they are rechargeables. Though rechargeables makes more sense for a controller where it's far more convenient to charge of a cable then have to by replacement cells. Perhaps PS4 will have a methanol fuel line? :D

They should have just said. "all are games are $50". They would probably immediatly gain a huge edge over the competition.

Do you have a PSP? And if so, how long have you had it?

So, you want your damn force feedback or you don't?
I'd love it, if only to read the reactions from the Nintendo fan persons.

Internet is better and a worse place, at the same time, thanks to Nintendo fans.
Their usual tirades about how Nintendo, as a monolithic entity, invented virtually everything and thus should be the only company allowed to sell products using the technology they pioneered because of some immanent, unsaid and unwritten, law never get old. It can enter the realm of the pathos, at times, though. :p

I wouldn't have anything against it per se. Hey, the more the merrier, right? :D However, there's a few things that screws with this scenario. The main stumbling block (totally disregarding software support and sony management etc) would be overall design IMO; a sixaxis remote for PS3 would have buttons all over where the fleshy part of your thumb/hand lies across it, leading to huge problems actually playing with the thing. Ergonomics would be crap, because a remote is too wide to be held comfortably IN the hand rather than just grabbed briefly and well, be controlled... That's why the wiimote looks the way it does.

Ha. I think all sides are equally bad, they say pretty much the same things using slightly different arguments. For example, I could never imagine bill gates would get young teenage-aged fanb0ys before I heard they were making a games console over at microsoft. It just wasn't possible to envision; few really LIKED MS back then.

I don't have the patience for fannishness anymore. I was much too big a fan myself once, for nintendo and against sega on consoles, and then for commodore and against atari on computers... Then I grew up, and, um well, grew old. :D It's such a bother, now I just buy all the major consoles and enjoy the best sides from each of them.

I think exploding controllers might be more force feedback and anybody can handle.

Anyone know what [plastic] material Sony is using for the controllers? Because I believe the earlier DS2's are a lot sturdier than the newer one (I'm not sure if this is before or after Sony's peripheral price drop).

I suspect that's true. I can get my 360 controllers charged in about 30 minutes, and get about 20-25 hours of use out of them with the rumble turned on. Certainly Sony's batteries can charge up in about the same amount of time, and another 10 hours of use without rumble seems about right.
