Hmmm, this is kinda interesting Sony is essentially enforcing the need for broadband ( i know a few other titles that already do this as well). I do recall so many people cheering fo rthe fact you could use a regular modem in north america, and how dumb it was for MS to make xbox live boradband only... I had a feeling this would happen and sony would end up doing similar things.
SCEE today revealed the official launch date for its broadband network gaming service, making it the last of the next-gen consoles to go online in Europe. June 11, 2003 is the glorious date set by tyhe company for PS2 online gaming to take off, after a successful consumer trial period over the last couple of months.
Consumers in possession of a PS2 and broadband connection will be faced with a number of options on launch day. The basic Network Adaptor Kit will retail for £24.99, comprising the Network Adaptor and Network Adaptor Disk.
