Edit : Actually, in some seriousness, is this going to have an negative impact on the Casuals' perception of Move titles as being too difficult, if they are used to inaccurate motions leading to successful results on Wii due to all the player aids? This boy clearly couldn't recreate an actual sports motion to play the game given what he expected, but then again he was perhaps a Wii cheater, rather than one of those who took wild swings that would naturally miss, but Wii made them hit. Still, even those people are going to need some actually sporty hand-to-eye coordination. Store demos are going to need all aids on full...but then that'd deter gamers.

It will ! They need to automatically switch individual player mode (back) to novice if the controller gets flicked a lot. Children won't listen and they won't bother to set the proper modes if they can't appreciate the differences. A Dad should be able to play with a "flicker" or "flickers".

That's perhaps a key idea you've had there. It should be possible to determine broadly what level a player is at by their movements, and switch modes. It'd want some on-screen feedback to eanble this. Perhaps a tag under the UI avatar or something that said Novice, experienced, Expert, which explains the game mode that it's switched to for the player. Those with a Wii-cheat approach would get flick control, but have it made clear that they're not really trying. The next level up would just expect the right broad movement to be made at about the right time (forehand or backhand), and would place the shot accordingly. Then you'd get into training wheels off mode, and finally all aids off so everything is matching the player, and at that level you know it's you playing and not you helping the computer to play. ;) This would support users of all levels yet, hopefully, encourage improvement in technique because it'd rank you as a player. Better yet, chuck in Wii-like graphs of your ability. Everyone likes to see graphs and scores going up!

http://www.siliconera.com/2010/08/3...ts-way-to-ps3-with-playstation-move-controls/

Irem is bringing their Disaster Report series back to the big screen. Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories (known as Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4: Summer Memories) in Japan begins with an earthquake in 201X.

...

Famitsu’s info box pegs Disaster Report 4 for release this winter. Irem’s game supports 3DTVs and PlayStation Move. Details about PlayStation Move controls were not announced at this time.

PS Move Stress Tests:

Lighting Tests

Starting on Sunday, I tested the PlayStation Move under four lighting conditions: standard daytime sun, bright sunlight, nighttime lamp illumination and room darkness.

...

The PlayStation Move managed to calibrate on the first attempt in three of the above four trials. Draw the blinds to prevent bright sunlight from hitting your TV and it seems that you'll be ok.

Ars Technica has a long, informative article on Move:

Glad RUSE is getting positive reviews.

EDIT: This video, which may seem trivial, is really another way to give PS Move its unique visual identity:

(The light ball is regarded by some Move testers to be a surprising element, but their marketing seems to skip it all the time)

The squishing is interesting too (another unexpected, but smart decision).

The non-avatar player characters (i.e., Augmented Reality) is the other way to differentiate.

Oddworlds: Strangers Wrath HD remake has just been announced!!!

HD PSN remake with MOVE support :D

I never got to play this (and Munch's Oddysey too) after Oddworld Inhabitants defected to Xbox exclusivity back in the day (i was destrought at the time), so i'm really pumped to play this... and MOVE support makes this all the better :D

Cannot wait!!!

Not gonna lie... clicked on the video to see that girl.

About SingStar dance, does it track your whole body, or does it just track the ball(s) to see if you match the pattern/movement on screen?

I believe you're scored based on the controller movement only.

Everyone else will look at your uploaded videos on the SingStar network.

Just the ball. The other day I think I saw a mode supporting two Moves for one player though, for two handed tracking. But yeah, it does support video capture and upload and of course two singers and two dancers.

Gamespot did a marathon 1 september, which you can still look at. They seem to have played a fair bit before that also:

Their reviews are definitely showing this.
