Playstation 5 [PS5] [Release November 12 2020]

the console doesn't look so great from certain angles imo:

Since xbox controllers dont have these features its up to the devs to implement the extras for the DS. Atleast first party games will use it (all of them?).

This is super encouraging because I've heard this before, most recently "HD rumble" from Nintendo, and it's generally disappointed. I really like the DS4's touchpad as an extra mode of input but the reports that DualSense is actually delivering a new experience is great.

I've been really dubious about this.

Easy allies told in the video it is very good too. They have a mini preview of one Astrobot level too.

EDIT: it seems to impress everyone

Its one of those cases where you wish PS5 will be PS2/PS1 level of success and the competition insignificant enough, to warrant the support. Otherwise it is missed potential of something that is truly game changing in the experience.
We want this innovation in gaming.
Hideo Kojima would do wonders if he has no limitations

Since ps5 only have 36 CUs it's up to devs to use the extra ones in XsX. At least 1st party games will use them (all of them ?)

At least every third party games with PS marketing(NBA2K, GTA 5, FF16, Project Athia, RE8, DMC 5, COD, FIFA...) or temporary exclusivity will use them.

EDIT:

Another thing Astrobot is good

Astro’s Playroom is a brilliant showcase for a brilliant controller

Astro’s Playroom on PS5 might be the best pack-in game since Wii Sports

Yes but thats unlikely to happen, controllers should have had parity for that reason. Maybe, since the DS will work with PC, that multiplat games will take advantage of this anyway.

It doesnt have to have parity if the install base compare to the rest is large enough.
Parity with PC is irrelevant where keyboard/mouse is the main form of gaming. Keyboards/mouse will never have any special innovation.

But still a chance there, since many more use their consoles controller on pc. When designing a multiplat game say from rockstar, wouldnt it just be a switch to flip to enable it for both PC and PS5?
KB/M never need any innovation. And thats the thing with PC, your free to use whichever controller you want to. DS4 has had great support for pc, same features in playstation games on pc for the DS4 as on PS4.
