To be pedantic, doesn't it say it wont take up space from what's available? So if PS4 already has reserved as part of the system used space of 500 megs for video recording, you won't use any space from what is available to the end user unless you opt to share that clip.

Is it confirmed that PS4 uses TrustZone ? The rumors were inconclusive (Some said yes, some said no). Sony may be doing something similar but proprietary here.
Nope and I wouldn't expect Sony to clarify this either. It's possible they've rolled their own implementation but being a big adopter of TrustZone on other Sony devices, it would be an odd move to go with something untried.

I meant about the same. Agree.

PS4 Features Trailer.

Main Processor will be made up of a custom AMD x86-64 CPU & Next-Generation Radeon GPU.

We don't really have much info about the CPU yet. We know the base architecture but not a lot else. It might be that there is not a lot to know or it may be that there is more under the hood and Sony has basically been under an NDA with ATI until ATI was ready to announce their own stuff.

ATI? Haven't heard them for a long time... :)

There's an internal northbridge-type system of buses on the chip, one end of which connects to the memory controllers, the other ends connect to data consumers like the GPU and CPUs, video/audio codecs, PCIe and so on.

I'm interested in seeing what kind of effect different HDDs will have on console performance, since installation is the way forward. I have a 7200 rpm in my PS3 and there is a small, but noticeable difference.

Really interested in seeing what an SSD will do in the PS4.

I'm betting on a SSHD. I've got a 1TB\8GB hybrid drive sitting on the shelf ready for the 29th!

I have a screwdriver ready... to "borrow" the 960 SSD from my laptop
If the difference isn't huge, I'm putting it back in my laptop and getting either a 1.5TB HDD or a 1TB SSHD.

The PS4 internal interface seems to be SATA-2 (from the FAQ), so it already limits SSDs to 300MB/s.

FWIW I think the real limit is lower than that, there is a hardware limitation that throttles it below the capability of the physical interface.

There also used to be throttling in software, that was removed for development, but I don't know what the final call for end user units was.
