Honestly I'd be pretty surprised if it is called anything but Playstation 3 or PS3 for short. If I remember correctly before PS2 was announced Sony said "people shouldn't be calling it Playstation 2" and we all know what happened

Seriously, didn't Sony at the time say it wouldn't name it's successor to the PlayStation with an additional "2"? Regardless, I'm still expecting the next iteration to be called PlayStation 3. I can't think of anything better.

Phil, I remember the same thing. I could be wrong (it has been 5 years!) but I thought they said it would not be called the PS2 and not to refer to it as such. But I could be wrong.
