Hello all. The Official Playstation magazine is out with a free blu-ray disc (useless for all those without a ps3....even though the magazine is for psp, ps2 owners as well...:D ).

Well it's meant to be packed with free content (though the magazine is priced at a staggering £6:cry: ) Most of which will be the demos in the PS store...but it's also meant to have some exclusive demos.

What content is on the disc? (Sorry I haven't bought it, unless I know it's worth it...student n all  ). Thanks.

4 game demos you can already download from the PSN. The disc's contents have been known for a while now:

Reports from people who purchased the magazine suggest there is no other content on the disc. Apparently the magazine says there will be a Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo next month... now while that doesn't sound too eventful, Europe never saw the NGS demo that America and Japan received.

Surely most of that BRD is empty? What can a mag put on a BRD demo disc to fill up >9 GBs and actually be worth the investment?

Maybe it's a Sony sponsored thing. Y'know, just to get BRDs out there and start on the long road of making them perceived just like DVDs. Maybe?

Well we "knew" what they told us what was on it. I just couldn't find anyone who actually bought it...so that's it then? No new videos or anything like that?

HD videos. Trailers of upcoming games and BD movie trailers. I think beyond DVD capacity could easily be reached.

Obviously - it's just a continuation of the DVD cover disc tradition for the PS2, and no they didn't have too much trouble filling that up either. ;)

I for one look forward to it - it's just useful as a convenient backup, if nothing else. No need to keep everything on the HD when I have it on one of these BluRay discs. The PS2 demo discs were great - just a very convenient and quick way to play a lot of different stuff.

Lets remind ourselves that probably over half of all PS3 users do not have their consoles connected to the internet (much less broadband internet) and have never seen these demos or HD trailers. Theses are the types of gamers who are more likely to be still buying printed gaming mags. They are going to be super excited to be getting this.

too true :)

But what about all the people who don't own a ps3...they don't get a disc to play to inform them of the games on the PS3. :?:
