I don't get it.

What I meant to say was, that both comments seem to make sense to me; each of it's own value of course.

I do believe that different approaches have both their advantages and disadvantages and I also think that for a 520MHz the XT has way too little bandwidth.

Am I the only one that had heard that NVIDIA initially targeted a 600MHz clockspeed? Let's ignore yields, heat or whatever else for a second; where would they had gotten the necessary bandwidth from?

If I assume that the 400-550MHz core/ram relativity is well balanced I'd need theoretically what kind of GDDR3 for 50% higher clockspeed?

R420's ram is only 10MHz faster than NV40's or not?

That was for the once planned 8x1 NV40, not for the chip known as NV40 now.
