Now that GC is gettig an exclusive MGS game....

Interesting that they outsourced it to Silicon Knights. Good for Konami really, free money!

SK knows more about GCN programming than Konami anyway. At least Kojima and Miyamoto is overlooking the project.

It's pretty sweet that it'll be shown at E3 and be released this year in the US too!

1) Though it is good for N....but some of the real Big Games they are getting are usually remakes of old games...so no real benefit...ideally they should get games along with other consoles....

2) No question of Loyalities...! It is only a sequel of original MGS....MGS3 will still be on PS2....

I'm very disappointed. It's a remake of a game I never undestrood the hype about. The gameplay was very good but I never got into the story which was either unbearable sob-stuff, pseudo-government critizism or both at once. Added to that the designers probably thought that a story gets better when there's a plot-twist around every corner (instead it got ridiculous pretty fast imho. About halfway through I almost didn't care about the story anymore). I've heard that MGS2 is even worse in that department though - glad I only played the demo ;)
And now Nintendo assigns Silicon Knights to do the remake (they're probably hoping MGS:TS will draw more older gamers to the GCN...). I was hoping to see Too Human, a game in the ED-universe or something completely new from Silicon Knights. These guys got a lot of talent, especially in the story-department (they're one of the few in the industry who really know mature storytelling! ED was a blast and so was Blood Omen). But they have to squander their resources on this remake

At least there's hope that Silicon Knights will give the story a cleanup. If someone can do this right it's them... :?

That would be a crime against mankind. MGS´s storyline is truly fantastic. Although I do prefer the bigger scope and complexity of the second one, MGS´s storyline is a classic on its own merit.

I think this shows the growing trend that, as long as you have an acceptable console, 3rd parties are alway willing to work with you. Next generation will be exciting, i can feel something fresh is going to happen!

I'm very disappointed
I think many wouldnt. :p

MGS is among the greatest games ever! Its story is so engrossing....not like SH where you dont know what the hell is going on!!

Actually you feel like snake,,,,you really love Maryl....you trust Otacon/Naomi....you wish to stop Liquid/Metal Gear....you want to save this world....I never found such a fantastic story...esp where you come to know that Campbell is actually Liquid....and by mistake you activated Metal Gear,,,,....I was in shock there!

I don't want to sound rude, but it seems SH2's story was a tad sophisticated for you :p Example of a story trying too hard and falling on its face: MGS2, example of a simple, yet engaging and intellectual story: SH2 :p

Again, whats with the remakes on GC? Too bad we can't make a neat acronym for this, unlike REmake lol.

Also, I don't really know how I'd feel about miyamoto overlooking the project, he doesn't really have any experience with said types of games...

Whats next? A FFVII remake on GC? If so... *breathes fire*

BTW, didn't Kojima-san have an axe to grind with Nintendo?

He's probably just overlooking the gamplay-stuff: Making sure that the control-scheme is good, the game is neither too easy nor too hard etc. They did something similar with Eternal Darkness (afaik): Two EAD-guys were overlooking the gameplay-development but SK had complete control over story, presentation etc.

No... silly rumor. According to Miyamoto it was even Kojima who approached Nintendo about doing an MGS title for Cube. He also calls Miyamoto his mentor.

Kojima's also doing a pretty cool game for GBA called Boktai.

I heard that a new Castlevania is coming to GCN.

nope, Dracula May Cry, I mean Castlevania is coming to PS2....and, Dracula May Cry should actually be its name... when you see it, you will know what I mean, big disapointment, reminds me a lot of the N64 CV game, thought prettier(but not much)

Denis Dyack (president of Silicon Knights) said the following in an interview with IGN two months ago:

Denis Dyack said:
If you look at games that I personally find very appealing, like Metal Gear Solid, they have huge amounts of flash and they've got the content as well. So I think that's the direction we're going to go in next time.

Who would have thought...

Btw, who started this poster war....(in MGS2, in almirahs ;) ), I believe it made its debut in Dino Crisis (PSX)....we had those posters in some rooms....tooo bad! PSX was too weak to show them....

Just because there's a Castlevania coming out for PS2 doesn't mean there won't also be one for Cube. Not to say that I think they're doing one but then again I didn't believe the rumors that SK was doing an MGS remake either. Crazy times.

Now will be able to see that scene where Maryl changes her military dress in the bathroom and if you reach there quickly you can see her with, well! less clothes.... ;) .....
