Ninja Gaiden Sigma a port? Who cares?

Vergil-3 shouldn't be hard on normal or easy difficulty, just use Royal Guard and just parry everything he throws at you, sneak in just release in there when you build enough rage and attack him when he is doing nothing. DMC3 parry is easier to do than say SF3. Should defeat him pretty quick.
and if all else fails, orb farm and buy a lot of green orbs.

if you think DMC3 is hard, you should see some of the videos i have of people playing DMC3. there are people who can SS rank every single level, on every single difficulty.

I managed an S rank through normal difficulty(The first European version which was harder than the special edition) against the last fight with Virgil with no Royal Guard

Since it keeps being mentioned: I played through DMC3 and it was fa riggin brutal!!! I felt very accomplished after beating that game - the same way I felt when I defeated some of the old challenging challenging NES games, like Mega Man - and couldn't imagine spending more time playing on higher difficulty. It was a great game with a great combat system.

Though it may sound very unhip I am currently playing the first God of War and while I am enjoying it have noticed that it is a really highly produced rip-off of DMC (orb collections especially). It has been very easy (on normal) thus far but thoroughly enjoyable. Both of these games have reawakened me to the action genre and I plan on backtracking to play more action games and the @the top of my list is DMC4, NG and GoW2.

You have to admit that Sigma is lazy. A great game being upgraded for stronger hardware, but still. That's like Nintendo repackaging a Wii version of Super Mario Sunshine with slightly better animations and textures and one new level, with Wii-mote controls, and charging $50... as opposed to a new game ala Super Mario Galaxy

Yeah.... Instead Nintendo pretty much did what you just said with a console and not just a game ;)

Very Nice!

I was both amazed at how well the Xbox 360 480P upscaled to 720P held up, and how great the native 720P Playstation 3 version looks. It seems Ryu has the ability to dual wield swords in the Playstation 3 version:cool: I wonder if they can be controlled separately?

I hope Ninja Gaiden Sigma is eventually released for the Xbox 360! Maybe Team Ninja could include it as a pack in with a limited edition Ninja Gaiden 2, something along the line of the Halo 3 Legendary Box aimed at the "Hardcore" fans would be cool.

IGN Hands On

From a technical aspect, Ninja Gaiden Sigma looks about as sharp as we figure games can get. Every texture in the game has been reworked for the PlayStation 3, and a number of other effects have been added to spice things up, like self-shadowing and so forth. Some creatures now shine with ooze, while others emit clouds of something as they scurry about the battlefield. Tecmo said that it has just recently managed to implement full 1080p support into the game, and at a full 60fps to boot. Yes, this is one slick-looking title.

Interesting, I remember Team Ninja also saying 720p is optimal for PS3.

Anyhow, great characters at 1080p60.

I really liked how weapons caused refraction of background.

Team Ninja should consider the possibility that not all females look like cheap porn stars though.

By the way, why do people assume NG2 will come to 360? Is it announced already?

It has been highly suggested by Itagaki but honestly no confirmation.

Is the title 1080 native or upscaled?? Regardless looks very good.

According to IGN they managed to do "full 1080p" which I guess means native. Scaled 1080p is almost nothing to brag about anyway.

Now they're saying that they made the Ps3 dev kits smoke!

[Speaking to GameInformer , Yosuke Hayashi, the director of Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden Sigma, claims that he was able to make his batch of PlayStation 3 devkits "smoke."

He explains:

"We’ve made a couple of devkits smoke, but we haven’t had any actually blow up yet.[laughs] As far as using the hardware to its fullest... initially we didn’t think that we were going to be able to do as much as we have been able to, which is something good about the PS3, because we weren’t necessarily limited to what it says on paper.

As an example,we had originally planned to only include self-shadowing during the cutscenes, but once we actually started coding, we found that we were able to have cutscenes in real time, fully implemented throughout the entire game and while you’re in the middle of the action."

He also had a lot to say to people who were complaining about the Sony PS3 being too hard to develop for:

"I think all those developers who are saying, "We don’t want to do a PS3 game," or "It’s really difficult to do it," should shut up and make their games. If you have time to complain about it, then you should be spending your time working on getting the most from the hardware."

Is that even possible by pushing the hardware?
