Core2Duo is a totally modern CPU compared to Pentium. Vastly higher transister count.

Gekko & Broadway both, are little more than a custom G3 / PowerPC 750CXe, with some new instructions (which were already added to Gekko). They're basicly the same core.

So your comparison doesn't seem valid.
