New Virtua Fighter 5 trailer for PS3

Very very nice.

Excellent lighting & material interaction. The animation & clipping (or seemingly lack thereof) was also quite good. My only complaint is the glossiness with the skin, maybe just tone it down a little more. The the up-close face shots were perfect..maybe those were CG? They look different from the fighting scenes. See around 0:33 and 0:37. There's a significant specular component, and then up-close, her skin is all soft, which is different from the beginning close-up view when the camera zooms out.

Still, the model-work is quite good.

This is the E3 trailer, which was NOT rendered on the PS3. And yes, the facial shots for the new characters are CG.
This thread has good timing, though, as just today the official site put up the two attract demos (for, again, the Lindbergh version) in direct-feed (but low-res and poorly compressed) here.

In hindsight, I don't want to discourage downloading the attract demos. Their quality is fine, really, though the server's getting hammered.
And I expect the PS3 version to look identical. There's honestly no technical reason to look worse, and there's not much impetus to look better than the arcade bread and butter.

Ah... thanks for the clarification. :)

So why does it have PLAYSTATION 3 at the end of the video? It kind of make you feel like this is the PS3 verison.

this sort of behavior is typical in the videogame industry. show arcade pictures or videos before the home version is shown.

we have realtime arcade footage plus pre-rendered CG, not realtime PS3 footage.

It also has the Sega AM logo as well. The ending part is just showing the companies/platforms involved and their respective logos, not necessarily where this footage came from.

Game trailers do this all the time.
