It does seem very strange. I had a look at the PSM website and it seems the last issue hit newsstands August 30th, so it seems very early for someone to have received the November issue already. No one on the forums there has released it yet.
I started a thread at PSm asking about this NOV issue. But i do believe the poster b/c i just recieved by November issue of PC gamer with Fear on the cover last week. So he could have gotten the mag now. :???:

Also the guy who posted all of this even posted the cover of the mag at teambox forum.

The guy who actually started this just posted a scan of the cover (at teamxbox) - so I guess it's real ...

How can it be biased when it's pretty much stating facts?

Theres possibly slants in the article and as far as information goes PSM shouldn't be the place to get information about PS3 compared to the Xbox360. Although...as far as the game titles and whatnot, those I would actually put trust in...but the he said she said (annonymously) stuff is something that should be taken with a grain of salt...as always.

Magazines, certainly in the UK, are normally released in monthly editions some 2 or 3 months before their namesake. So a November Edition mag will be in the shops in September. And no, I don't know why they don't call the edition on the shelves in September the September Issue!

PS3 will have a limited playable presence at TGS 2005. Sony has told PSm to expect a significant presence for the system at January's CES in Las Vegas. If a March launch does occur, it owuld be accompanied by only a couple of first-party titles, another two to three from EA, and one title at most from their other thrid parties.
Isnt there also going to be like a playstation 3 conference in February next year?

2005 spring = Alpha kits
9/16~18 = TGS
December 05 = Final Kits
February 06 = PS3 Conference?
Spring 06 = PS3 launch (japan only? or worldwide?)

a spring worldwide launch is sounding more and more likely.
i sure hope so, id would hate to have to wait 12 months from now for the ps3 to come to the US.

Never seen an UK computer/console related mag released 2 months "ahead", let alone 3. One month seems typical however (february issue in january, etc).

I must have missed something? What information are you getting that leads you to believe a worldwide launch is likely? I'd still be happily surprised with a spring JPN launch.

im not sure software will be mature enough across the board by then
agreed.i think sony can handle launching ps3 in japan without any key software(just like they did with ps2) but in us and europe sce needs at least one or two AAA titles to compete with likes of gears of war and get ps3 out of gates properly.

Developers already have the actual cell to play with so I don't see why it won't be possible. Xbox360 devs are supposed to drop their products on the market with less than 3 months of hardware practise..

What? X360 is suppose to launch in just over 60 days and Microsoft is just getting developer's final devkits out -- of which a significant number are faulty. Yet, it's Sony -- whose had Cell-based workstations and SM3 level hardware, which is an excellent approximation of the final hardware, out since late 2004 in DCC and select developer's hands and with around 6 months from today to go untill launch -- who won't have mature software...

I love the logic. Either Microsoft (and the entire industry) is supremely screwed, or you're out fishing my friend.

So why are there going to be no playable ps3 games at the TGS, only tech demos yet playable 360 games?

Maybe theres no incentive to show anything playable at this point since the launch will not be until next year but that hasnt been what happens historically.

Still, if development for ps3 is as far along as you claim it could/should be, we should be seeing more than what we saw at e3 (nothing) and what we will see at TGS (technology demos running on ps3 hardware).

Maybe there's no incentive to show anything playable when you can show pre-rendered videos and claim they are in-game and everyone will believe you.

I kid. I kid. :)

E3 was 6 months out of the 360 launch. How many 360 games were playable there? TGS is 6 months out of the PS3 launch. I am not really suprised. Wasn't there a similar situation with the PS2 launch? PEACE.

He has a point.

..so im guessing, we should have playable content at las vegas next year or at this "secret" ps3 conference.

also, whats up with the ps3 list for TGS? only 2 games??? theres gotta be more than that, maybe they just arent announced to be there yet?
