PS3 didn't support multiple simultaneous user logins. PS4 does. An occasional extra user action seems like a worthwhile tradeoff for that additional capability.
Maybe add a breathalizer test as an additional authentication step during the checkout process?

Because you could be a visiting guest with a PSN account. E.g, supposing I visit you and pick up a powered down controller, I can login into my PSN account using your PS4 and bag trophies for any games you have - assuming it's your primary PS4 system.
I heard our PSN account is associated with the controller when we play.
If a friend play with you, the DS4 account prompting would make more sense.
Hmm, they should probably auto-signin after say, 3 seconds if the default account has not logged in on the console yet.
