Movie Reviews 2.0

Shutter island - Brilliant acting by Leo,Sir Ben Kingsley & Mark Ruffalo.
I don't think I am wrong when I say that Leo & Brad Pitt are the two best actors of our times.

As for the story...well half predictable plot & half confusing plot.
Predictable cause the Teddy being Andrew's other self was obvious to see after first few minutes but confusing as in that there are three possibilities in what actually happened:

1) Its all a conspiracy indeed, Teddy is Teddy & the asylum is trying to break him down by making everything so that he gives himself in. The asylum choose him cause he is starting to show some mental instability due to his disturbed past.

2) Teddy is just an alter ego of Andrew & he is now fully sane but still acts crazy cause he can't live with the guilt of killing his wife so he gives in for the surgery.

3) Teddy is the alter ego & he cannot be cured

And the thing to notice here is that the movie supports ALL three of the possibilities without proving the other wrong anywhere. All in all the movie leaves the audience to their imagination !

Other than that, what's different in the shot above? Make-up is about it.
Is this a trick question?
yes she is a beautiful woman (both versions) but to argue that shes had no cosmetic surgery is like wacko jacko is 100% pure ( god rest his soul :p)

lol I swear the one on the left could be a picture of my mother --- back in the 1970s, mind you --- that is some serious make up problem she has going on there :D

I can see a slight slimming of the nose, but zed, tell me where there's more?
If anything, she's hotter in the before IMHO

well as a nose diet doesnt exist, so youre admitting there is some surgery now,
i.e. its not just makeup Mize yes she i beautiful in both versions thats not in question

I'm no expert zed (are you?) so I'm not sure. I have photos of myself and my family where our noses look different from lighting, etc. I'm saying it's possible.

Kick-ass 9/10 - Great comic book adaptation, and a damn fun movie for even general theater-goers. Though one warning: if you're squeamish or easily offended by an 11yo girl throwing out every 4-letter cuss word in the English dictionary, better go see The Last Song instead.

Rush Hour 2- 7.5/10

The chemistry between Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan in this series is amazing, albeit the movies themselves aren't perfect. The one liners make for a great view.

Im a huge Jackie chan fan, Ive seen 80+ of his films
Its a pity jackie chan's is most famous for this series as it's not that good
RH1 6/10
RH2 5/10
RH3 3/10

How to Train Your Dragon 3D
pretty good movie, really enjoyed wathing it. Lot's to enjoy for the whole family.

4/5

Kick Ass

Didn't know too much about this before hand. I really liked it. Normal/Dark humour and surprising brutality at unexpected moments. Everything just worked in this movie.

4.5/5

Kick Ass - I'm having a hard time deciding. The parts with Hit Girl and Big Daddy are great. Kick Ass himself is kind of underused and underdeveloped. A lot of the stuff about being a teenager I thought was awkward and some of the comedy didn't work. The love interest part of the story was not done really well. Overall I enjoyed it.

Not sure that this is an "adaptation" in many senses - the film script was written at the same time as the comic series and evidently the film rights were sold before the first issue ever hit.

I saw Oldboy last night. What an absolutely fu*ked up and amazing film! It left me and my mates speechless for a long time after the end. Great movie. I'll work my way through Lady Vengeance and the other ones soon!

Avatar Blu-Ray. An absolute 10/10 for Audio and Video. This is *the* showcase material for hi def. The video quality of the BR is better than the 3D/IMAX presentation in the theaters. People with high end TV's and top projectors are in for a treat.

Same for audio junkies. The dialouge is crisp and clear at all time. The bass is night and tight and good use or surrounds without over doing them.

I saw some of Avatar on bluray and I thought it actually looked worse, only because the improved image quality made it look like a cartoon. So much of the movie is CG that it doesn't look real at all. The motion cap/animation is amazing though.

I might just have to cave in and buy Avatar on Bluray. I have not bought a DVD for about 8 years but Avatar is more of an event, really. Ah, the joys of marketing.

The only person I know who bought it said it comes with both Blu-ray and DVD
