monitor problems. :( :(

Both of my old CRTs do this (just for a fraction of a second though). It is the fallback-transformer and it's common for ageing CRTs. You can replace it (I want to do it, probably not by myself and I hope it's not expensive since it's basically a soldering job) and you should because when this part dies it usually kills the whole monitor (the part costs 50 euros for my Eizo F77).
