What i'm not getting is, did they just do this all by themselves? Or did someone "up there" in China tell them to do it? From the article it seems that MS just decided to do this all by themselves, but i'm not sure what interest they would have in this. If anything, they'd decide to do this after being pushed by some Chinese officials.

they have just invented an alternative meaning to these words.
