Eurogamer seems confused, they don't think that's necessarily the case.

"Available on 360 "from day one". So presumably it's on the others too. "

I'll take either's word on it. It's a big announcement one way or another, I certainly didn't expect a new GTA so soon.

Is it? I mean MS is really going all out with huge titles and I'm downloading Halo3 trailer right now!!! And X360 is 200$/e cheaper than PS3, X360 lineup is easily as strong as PS3's and it's 200 bucks cheaper, to me that is very close to owning at the moment, last year it was Sony owning MS.

Oh boy, that's really unexpected. MS really means business this time. They've got two of the biggest franchise of the last gen (Halo and GTA). That's really quite boost to them.

How much does it really matter?

It's either exclusive exclusive, or it's certainly a time-release exclusive, and that's all the PS2 needed for me to go buy one.. or.. two.. actually, three.

(Yes, I went through three PS2s before GTA:SA was released on the Xbox)
 
Joystiq is saying that Rockstar games and MS have entered into an exclusive agreement to bring in episodic content. I would assume that does not mean that GTA itself will be exclusive just the extra downloadable content.
 
So wait, in all the commotion i lost my head. Is GTA 4 a NEW game? I know we're beyond the 4th installment but are the ones named after cities not counted in the numerical sense?

GTA3 was a trilogy. i.e. 3-1, 3-2, 3-3
