Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King for $69 Billion on 2023-10-13

More than that. They're 100% of competitors after their hand-waving away that Nintendo doesn't count.
Or any competition in the streaming market including sony who was allowed to buy up the big streaming companies a decade ago. Not a single complaint there

Not all buy outs are equal. Hence why also other acquisitions MS did they were green lid fast.
There is no pro-Sony bias. You should give up this as an argument

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick in an interview with CNBC and reported by SeekingAlpha stated he has no concerns over Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard. He says most of his competitors feel the same way.

Take-Two not being concerned doesn't mean nobody else is. Take Two were not listed amongst the companies listed in the CMA's report.

"Well there's one big company that is, but apart from that no," Zelnick said. "Generally speaking I don't think people are particularly concerned because it remains a fragmented business."

How would Take Two know what other companies are saying confidentially to regulators? :-? Not everybody has GTA V online MTX billions rolling in.

Why would it be a concern for other companies ?

Activision / Blizzard games already exist on platforms. If anything this could cause less competition for certain games on the playstation ecosystem. If diablo 4 doesn't show up on playstation then other games like it (torch wood) would have access to a larger group of players without having to worry about acitivsion / blizzard games competiting for sales

Sure because the less options you have available on a platform the best for the consumer who owns it and the better for the platform maker. Because a diversified game library doesnt matter. :yep2:
When you cook up nonsensical arguments then you are contradicting your own self. If its Sony you complain that they are having exclusives and putting consumers in a disadvantage. If its MS, they are doing good.

Because people talk.
People do talk, but expecting Microsoft's competitors to be sharing their commercial this acquisition with Take Two? That's a stretch and a half. There is a reason that these consultations are done in confidence. Clearly, there area quite a few concerns driving the key regulations - US, UK and EU - to got to stage 2 investigations to bottom those out in detail - so evidently the companies raising concerns are not comfortable airing those in public, nor apparently not with Take Two guy either.

So the CEO of the one of the biggest publisher in the world is spreading lies for no apparent reason.

And the CEO of Take Two like the deal because it means share of his company has more value. If the deal is blocked it means we won't see other mega deal like this.

Overreaction much? Nobody called him a liar. In your post you quotes him saying "Generally speaking I don't think people are particularly concerned because it remains a fragmented business." He is not claiming nobody is concerned, he is suggesting he doesn't think they are. Thinking/believing something and knowing knowing something are very different things.

I hadn't thought of it that way, but that's an interesting take. It feels like Rockstar hit their peak with GTA V online and the revenue it brings in from micro transactions.

He seems to be pretty certain about it:

“He says most of his competitors feel the same way.“

But let’s leave it as it is.

Considering the size of the acquisition, I'm sure many CEO's or company execs might talk amongst their relatively small group about it. It's not like it would involve any company secrets and their competitors aren't exactly going to gain a competitive edge based on talk about this large acquisition.

So, yeah, I could certainly see talk about the acquisition making the rounds. Especially if they are out for a drink or shared in text messages. From my experience, heads of business enjoy going out drinking or socializing with other heads of business (IE - the people they consider their peers) and lots of talk happens. In some cases, that's where the talking happens that eventually leads to business opportunities between businesses ... even rivals.

At least this was fairly common among CEO's for industries involved in Aerospace, Tech, construction and recycling (a large part of the clientele for my mother's bar) in Japan back in the 80's and 90's. The things I got to overhear when I hung out there to drink and sing karaoke with them. :) Competition for business was fierce around them, but who else are they going to talk to if they wanted to talk with someone they considered a peer that would understand their area of expertise?

Regards,
SB

Let's just remind ourselves of the main competitors listed by the CMA, it was: Amazon, Apple, EA, Epic, Facebook, Google Netflix, Nintendo, Nvidia, Sony, Twitch, Ubisoft, Utomik and Valve.

I don't see the CEO's of any of these companies gossiping about their real or imagined market concerns with their direct competitors, regarding a third competitor (Microsoft). I cannot envisage any scenario where this would happen. You say it's not revealing company secrets, but by airing concerns you would be tacitly be admitting fragility in one of your markets. Can you imagine how damaging that could be if leaked? Why would any CEO, or other senior executive, be so reckless?

Nobody would risk sharing this stuff, because the risk of people talking is people talking. To Microsoft. This is why this process is confidential.

Why is twitch and amazon listed separately ? Is the CMA that inept that they don't understand its the same company ?
