Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain & Ground Zeroes

Why? It's the same concept, attach a balloon to an object so that it gets lifted up.

BTW, I was checking the PS4 storage management overview and looks like Ground Zeros takes 35 GB... that's for basically one level with cut scenes. How will the full game ever fit on single BD ?

^ Something is wrong with your size listing.

PS4 Ground Zeroes download size from PSN is 3.6GB, and install size on my PS4 is 4.2GB. Game features no FMV cinematics, everything is rendered realtime in-engine [except that TPP trailer at the end of the story mission].

Most of the Fulton systems I have seen recovering people involved using the balloon to lift the line not the person in the air. The plane grabs the line, the balloon is released and the plane basically pulls the person off the ground and into the air.

Nevermind that skyhooks became obsolete when longer range helicopters became prominent, which makes it kind of funny that the MGS system involves the use of a helicopter. I guess someone thought it was stealthier and more convenient to have a helicopter hovering around picking people tied to balloons out of the air versus whats done in GZ.

Long range helicopters would still require them to be landed though :p
But like I said, for gameplay reasons and the general bit of silliness that comes with MGS, I think we can discount these things.

Yep. It has to be fast. A hovering helicopter while you attach a hook is no good - it'd be quickly spotted and shot at. The unrealistic Fulton system employed allows the helicopter to fly in at ludicrous speed and be away before anyone can react. If the options available (eg. teleportation), the Fulton system is a moderately realistic tech that fits in with the 1980's setting.

Here's a good video to remind us on some of the funny moments in MGS2

I don't think I've ever laughed as much as in the MGS series in other games. I really hope Kiefer can do a half good job at bringing back some of those funny radio calls.

Every MGS game is full of those. :) BTW, woman on the projector is Kojima's wife.

Indeed.

Here's a funny extract from the video btw that I just have to quote (at the 8 minute mark)

Snake:
The cardboard box that you have is ideal for fooling your enemies. It's a very important tool for infiltration missions.

Raiden:
Really?

Snake:
Of course. I can't begin to count the number of agents whose lives were saved by a cardboard box...

Raiden:
You mean everyone's using them?

Snake:
Look. I'm not exaggerating when I say the success of your mission hinges on how you use that cardboard box.

Raiden:
huh...

Snake:
But in the end, a cardboard box is only made of paper.
Handle it with care or it won't be of much use to you.
Y'know... I've lost a couple thanks to you...

Raiden:
What?

Snake:
Nothing... forget it.
Treat your cardboard box with care. Take care of the box and it'll take care of you...
Don't think of it as just another box. Treat it with love... Don't be rough. Okay?

do MGRising also have those silly moments that break 4th wall? I found some of em on MGS V, but none on MGRising...

When playing as Raiden, at some points you can spot Snake walking around in a box. When you shoot at the box, you'll damage the box to the point that you can see pieces of cardboard lying around. There's a reference of that in an earlier radio message when Raiden sais something a long the lines he saw someone walking around in a box.

EDIT Found it (at 7:14 - you can see Snake in the box and he shoots it/him). This is the dialog when you radio in Snake right after it...

Raiden:
Pliskin (Snake), I saw someone wearing a cardboard box just now...?

Snake:
A box? I don't know anything about that. YOu sure you weren't imagining things?

Raiden:
Of course I'm sure. Do you think it's one of the members of Dead Cell?

Snake:
How should I know?

Raiden:
I don't want to fight someone like that...

Snake:
Why not?

Raiden:
Because it looked so dumb. Anyone who's willing to be seen like that must be completely insane.

I mean, he's a psycho; there's no question about it.

Snake:
Um, yeah...

I must say, I was one of the bigger critics of Kojima to essentially create MGS2 as a game where for 80% of it, you play as Raiden, but it sure gave a very funny insight of Snake that otherwise wouldn't have been possible. Got to love him for it.
