M10=mobilty Radeon 9700?

Hmm... actually, wouldn't multiple "TCU"'s be a decent idea for a notebook chip? Costs less than additional pipelines, after all...

Whoops! I didn't see that one ;)

Thnx for all the info guys. I guess I will just wait another week or so... I have a security job, and when I say I do nothing, im not too far off. I need my computer life with me, I already have my cell phone for an internet connection (twice dialup and then some apparently Sprint PCS).

I'm willing to shell out about $2300us max for a laptop...

It sounds like one day it will be *bam!* and we'll see all kinds of info on the M10, when it will be in shelves, some benchmarks, etc.

This hints at the new ATI line including the M10 in APRIL! ;(

"ATI puts after: Radeon 9800, 9600 and M10-Chip - 10:51 am EST - MrB
Chip Online is reporting some specs on ATI's soon to be annouced Radeon 9800, 9600 and M10 chipsets. It's a german site so you'll need Babel Fish to translate.

Within the High end range the Radeon 9800 for ATI is to clarify the balance of power. Like the predecessor, the Radeon 9700 pro, is manufactured also the 9800-Modell (code name R350) in the 0,15-Mikrometer-Prozess. The chip optimized for DirectX 9 possesses thereby the same units of Vertex and pixel Shader as the model 9700 pro.
Are raised the VPU clock (Visual processing unit), which will amount to instead of 325 MHz now 375 MHz. On the suitable boards excluding GDR i memory will be used. The focused frequency: 350 MHz, that are effectively 2 x 350, thus 700 MHz."

Is that stating April? Or is it kind of saying it will all be finalized and eveyrthing will all be out and available to buy BY April?

The M10 still guessed at March? With an announcement real soon? Possibly along side the R350 at March 5th was it? I'm just worried I wont get a laptop with the M10 until April! :(

I want one now, but another week or two is fine hehe.
