LINDBERGH to make it's way to the living room?

Haven't seen you in awhile Texan. But then again, we haven't had big Sega related news for days now. Jus kidding.

Anyway, what ever it is, let's put to rest that Sega is not entering the next-gen console market, period. I don't want this thread to explode.

.Z

the plot thickens once more..
i wonder what it will be? new hardware? sega peripherals for other hardware?

tgs is so sneaky ;)

thats plausible..

lindhbergh was a pentium IV with Nvidiea based board as far as I heard

bweh arcade games on your pc is so NOT DONE i think

Anyone else hear the old "SEga!" theme like when you fired up any Sega game on the Genesis when they read this thread? Now I just hear it repeating in my head, "SEga!" in that chorus-o-voices. :???:

I actually hear the SEGA! shouting commercials. ;)

I would buy a sega console or anything in a heartbeat. I am such a sega homer. I don't consider myself a "fanB0Y" with other consoles. But for some reason SEGA holds a special place in my heart and I am a fan.

I grew up with NES and loving nintendo but sega genesis i don't know did something for me. Definately can't be another home console, i don't think they have the resources and it would be pretty late in the game.

Hmmm old billie said a while ago something about licensing xbox360. You think maybe its a 360 licensed sega version for Japan?

Ahhh sounds ridiculous writing it.

As would I. I hope in the future...they get big enough again to release a console of their own...I really liked Segas RPGs and their platform games.

SEGA RPG's are set to make a comeback with the next generation. The current crop of Shining games for this gen is only the beginning.

As for platform games, there is the new Sonic. And that does look promising.

I highly doubt we will see a Lindbergh based arcade unit inside a home (besides mine) that just anyone can pick up. If there is such an announcement then I expect a machine to cost far less than the next gen machien ssimply because it is using older parts. But Lindbergh itself is scalable, so I doubt it has anyting to do with a home version.

Maybe they will announce that, as a part of Microsoft's new stance on gaming for Vista, all Lindbergh titles will be released on PC. :p

Even a home-made portable reconstructed out of Dreamcast parts -- like http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3678 -- can achieve respectable battery life, so one which was professionally designed using an SH4+MBX system-on-a-chip like Aurora would make for an outstanding performer and would probably facilitate Dreamcast ports with relative ease using conversion libraries.

You think its sega announcing they've bought capcom?

That would probably something that would get revealed already in like newspapers and tv news. Theres no way they could keep that secret, with buying and redistribution of stock. Takeover etc...

ARM 11 or MIPS 24K coupled with a PowerVR SGX would be a more exciting, and not a so quickly outdated, product in my opinion. With the SGX's feature set it's quite conceivable that the device could receive some (highly reworked) PS3/Xbox360 ports.

I really don't think Sega would be stupid enough to release a portable console, and anything Lindbergh related is, by definition, arcade related.

So maybe it is some business decision/merger type deal...

While PowerVR SGX seems to have the most advanced graphics features of any processor in any sector, it would probably be ready for a late 2006/early 2007 portable game console at the soonest.
