KILLZONE Shadow Fall [PS4]

Yup, just can't wait to see more gameplay from E3. GG is talented and I am just dying to see more levels with that physically correct lighting and shading model. I am sucker for soft shadows and this game is supposed to be an Area light heaven :p !

It looks like went shoping for their character´s outfits in northface. Personaly I find this sporty, treky style a little 2000ish and quite silly looking today. Similar to Mirror´s edge, and ignoring the great lighiting, the main character received quite some slack for how uninteresting she looked.

I like the character design a lot. Cool that this enemy type, I guess the Saboteur class from KZ2 looks as mean as it gets...evil cat!

You can see it right at the end of the KZ SF demo gameplay they showed at the Sony event. When the player stands on the wall and gets surrounded by the flying drones (I guess that this setting might be similar to the Berlin wall, where Berlin was separated after the war). Looking into the other part of the city you can see that it is more industrial imo:

Cool, now go improve the animation and atmosphere. The last KZSF tech talk redeemed part of the KZ2 atmosphere. Need to see more.

Then after KZSF, release KillZone Lair. :p

I'm almost certain that disk version will be handled same way.

The optical version of PlayGo doesn't wait for an install. It launches from the ODD and installs in the background. In essence, the disc version will launch faster since you already have the entirety of the game and they're allowing play from disc.

However, PlayGo "is two separate linked systems," Cerny said. The other is to do with the Blu-ray drive -- to help with the fact that it is, essentially, a bit slow for next-gen games.

"So, what we do as the game accesses the Blu-ray disc, is we take any data that was accessed and we put it on the hard drive. And if then if there is idle time, we go ahead and copy the remaining data to the hard drive. And what that means is after an hour or two, the game is on the hard drive, and you have access, you have dramatically quicker loading... And you have the ability to do some truly high-speed streaming."

But this one is set on Vekta isn't it? In the first KZ Vekta was a world of lush, cherry tree filled, parks, decayed urban docklands. Some sections were set on barren wind swept dunes and arid looking sun bleached foothills. I think they have lots of room to manoeuvre!

But I know what you're saying about the gritty atmosphere, perhaps, once the shooting starts, it'll get gritty pretty quickly.

Vekta was still very monotone in KZ1.

No sir, maybe you are forgetting the "Park" level. it was full of trees and pink flowers. And the Bamboo forest was all lush green, vektan slums were Star Wars Orange+Cream coloured.

KZ1 had those atmospheric monochormatic levels, Like the swamps, the docks, but also had a lot of colourful ones. I think it will be the same for Shadow Fall.
