Killzone: first pics

Are you just going to keep tearing at anything you can, since backing away from your conspidiocy theory now would be too embarrassing?

It's like running down the slipperly slope... "Goose, I can't reach the ejection handle!!! Eject, Eject, Eject!!!"

PS. Good post, don't mean to undermind it.

I am really shocked, that this arguing is still not done. Ok, we know this shit, but ousiders must think we are nuts. The pattern are so obvious: Sony related topic, 1-2 pages of nice discussion, naysayer drops crazy claim, thread de-rails or becomes an endless pointless argument, a thread that started nicely becomes locked up. It's always the same people and most the time it is not about opinions. When it comes to opinions, there is no right or wrong. Different story about claims or calumnies, there is a right or wrong ... and people will speak up, because they will not allow lies to be converted to truth. Never ending story? This forum woud improve a lot, if certain people would stop posting or at least change their style of posting ...

1) Um..maybe because Marc already posted it in his post just proceeding mine?

No, he posted the larger picture that clearly shows a graphical similiary with the current KillZone.

You, stated that while the picture was released in June - the blurry picture was also released in June as proceeded to undermine what Marco said by injecting this pointlessly superfluous image that serves only for you to laugh at it.

2) Um..go back and read my original claim if you have difficulty remembering. To summarize the whole game doesn't need to be changed but if you insist that was my orginal argument then feel free to think that

HL2 was unveiled in the June issue of PC Gamer.

Oh, and here's the proof...

http://hl2hc.halflife.org/pics/pcgamercover.jpg

The issue of that PC Gamer was out on the news stands at the begiining of may. Basically the same time Guerilla had to give out those screens to a magazine who could publish them in their E3 issue...

Actually all they needed to do was globally desaturate the colors and change single character model of the one cloned soldier
As I've said, there's one screen I have that clearly shows a CGI cut scene with enemy soldiers. They are super-detailed, and I very much doubt they could make even that single model that good in just a few days time. Not to mention that enemy soldiers in KZ are almost nothing like those in HL2, except that they both wear some kind of futuristic masks.

I feel the same, the anti-Sony-anything/crazy-Sony-haters are simply having too much time watching every Sony related topic and find ways to derail them, I guess stepping on whatever Sony related stuffs that come up in the threads make them happy. o_O

Yes the HL2 images were available in May. So what happened to the notion that KZ looked like that over a year ago? Where's the proof of that?

Basically it comes down to this:

1. I say it's possible to change the color palette and modify a single character model within a month because of place holders.

2. The sceptics say it's impossible.

Who's right? Until there's concrete proof nobody knows ;)

Why should anyone care how it looked a year ago? How does that affect your HL2 argument?

1. I say it's possible to change the color palette and modify a single character model within a month because of place holders.
Do you even read what I post? In order for that picture to be printed in the E3 issue of the magazine, KZ picture printed in it had to be submitted around the same time HL2 pictures were unveiled (may). Not to mention that KZ picture in that mag was captured from the video that was making rounds months before the E3.

Well, if Killzone is a rip off of HL2, than HL2 is a ripoff of Eden too. :) They all are ripoff of each other.

That was YOUR original argument...the whole traveling back in time thing

...so much for that argument...

Regarding the alleged video, you don't know when the video was made ;)

Haha I'm not pursuing this. I'm just waiting for the proof and personally I don't believe any concrete proof will ever materialize

so you are taking it on faith then?

but that's not all you are saying unless we/I read you wrong and your only implying that HL2 infleunces exist.

btw I don't think anyone is argueing 2 is impossible and that not what happened in this case.

Regarding the alleged video, you don't know when the video was made

okay now you are pushing a small degree of convulution in support of your case.

That was YOUR original argument...the whole traveling back in time thing

not really, it is a seperate arguement for his case.

No, it was not. I have never claimed I have seen anything of the game before the beginning of june this year. By 'last E3', I was referring to the E3 that was held this year, two months ago.

My only argument was that it was impossible for Guerilla team to rip anything off Half Life 2 as they couldn't physically see it and change their game fast enough before the first screens of Killzone leaked.

Regarding the alleged video, you don't know when the video was made
Nor do I care for the exact date. However, it was very obviously made before the first screens of HL2 were released, thus making any influence from that game completely impossible.

Oh and btw, since I see you are dodging the issue that HL2 masked people don't even look anything alike enemies in KZ, I'll just remind you of how they look:

so you are taking it on faith then?

I think if those alleged screenshot from over a year ago did show the style to be the same as what has been shown recently, somebody would've released them by now since NDA isn't in effect anymore. So far not even one member of the press who've seen it last year has come forward with pics to prove that indeed that's the case.

My original post pointed out that KZ borrowed elements from HL2 namely the color palette and the single masked character model. My theory was that it was likely and possible that the HL2 style was copied for KZ.

Killzone was first unveild to insiders only during a behind closed doors meeting arranged during GDC (March) 2003.

The enemies looked already like that back then.

I think marconelly! in his post above.

possible? most certainly. Probable? I think have to disagree here. circumstantial evidence you have presented while leads me to suspect some 'borrowing' from other sources doesn't give me enough to prove anything.

So why bring up the fact it has been in development for over a year???? ;)

My only argument was that it was impossible for Guerilla team to rip anything off Half Life 2 as they couldn't physically see it and change their game fast enough before the first screens of Killzone leaked.

...and that's where we disagree...

Heh you said months now you're backpedaling ;)

In actuality it could've been 1 day to but of course you would assume months to make it even more of an impossibility right??? ;)

Haha I'm not dodging anything...I said KZ copied the style of the masked characters in HL2. I didn't say it looked exactly the same ;)

I also said that HL2 was THE fps that introduced this specific style of graphics ie characters with these masks + color palette.

Not to say that I don't believe you, butl without pics that statement means nothing.

Nope. The real inspiration comes from this

manga13.jpg

Jin-Roh, the anime. Directed by Hiroyuki "Ghost in the Shell "Okiura.

That's what some people here are speculating too ;)

If that indeed is the case then of course my conspiracy theory doesn't pan out

However if the creator of Jinroh wasn't involved in the creation of KZ the that's a blatant RIP OFF which is even worse!!! ;)

Since NDA has been lifted...what's the problem? Why is it so difficult to produce these alledged screenshots that show the style was the same back then????

i'm afraid not, so feel free to continue that psychopatic gesticulation.

As my claim are truth ,you just look like a somewhat paranoid fool.(no offense)
