KillZone 2 News coming Very soon

Here's a very very recent post by one of the developers at the playstation.com forums

Not long now for some news. Not long now.

It never really gets lifted, only the specifics of the things we can talk about are lifted bit for bit. As for any dates... not long now. I still wont be able to talk about A LOT of things.

Seb Downie - Lead Tester - Guerrilla Game

Maybe a game release date, PS3 release date. Or could he be talking about news on the PS3???

Is'nt there an event in february???

Or maybe "The making of ....."

Anyway I am desperately waiting for any KZ news.
I thought KZ2 was a Playstation 2 game. The PS3 version shown at E3 was for a future game...

I think it is more or less certain that PS3 will get next KZ, TTP (is he a dev?) on these boards suggested something to that effect.

Given the thread's context, he seems to be referring to PS3 Killzone (they're not talking about "Killzone2" there) e.g.

"
GG struggled to keep up with the early and awesome screens of Killzone 1 this is why the game ended so unstable on ps2
and now given the very high benchmark of the E3 trailer, we are worried killzone ps3 would suffer the same"

So that's obviously referring to PS3 Killzone. Which makes sense, given that the PR machine is supposed to wake up from Feb (and already we're seeing some life lately).

I believe there was supposed to be another PS2 game in the works, but when Sony acquired Guerrilla, there was only mention of the PSP and PS3 games (perhaps the PS2 game was moved to PSP).

It's truly amazing how much hype this game has produced. Imagine Xbox fans slathering over Brute Force 2 news.

I could have sworn I read a comment somewhere very recent that they said they are very happy with the PSP version.

Could you point out where in the thread they said there was no PSP version? I was looking forward to it. :(

Dec 7th Article about Sony buying them out. not the comment I was talking about but this confirms they are working on something Killzone related for the PSP

It's not really given what happened at E3. I don't think it's so much that the game is hyped - in quarters like these at least - but there is a strong anticipation to even just see what it looks like now.

I remember that one too.But that has nothing to do with KZ2 AFAIK.I think its a separate Killzone game.

The critics might of thrashed it, but most PS fans don't seem to care....they seem to enjoy it.

Regardless of the whole E3 ordeal, I'd be surprise if they are able to make an improvement on the next game. That would be an interesting turn around..........or maybe the best FPS on PS3 ends up being the one we least suspect *points to I-8*

Jesus, they aren’t making the wait any easier.

If they really are hinting at the Feb event it will be godlike.

Killzone and someone was hinting at a new fighting game?

I wonder how they're going to show KZ?

Maybe something like this?
"King Ken makes a presentation, talks a little about the CELL processor and his dreams, fast forward to him calling in one of the Killzone guys, or maybe instead Phil Harrison. The Killzone sequence from E3 is shown (everybody goes: Blah!), but wait.. the game is paused, Phil takes control of the game and shows that this time the video indeed is in real time."

Well, I can dream can’t I? ;)

I hope they have a playable demo on the show floor.
