I haven't played Jak II much, but if this is as good looking, it'll be one of the nicest looking games this generation on any console.

Looks EXACTLY like Jak2... Here's a prediction: it will also PLAY exactly like Jak2.

Is this what they call "milking the money whore", or am I mixing up my sayings? ;)

You're right twice Guden ,you're mixing up your sayings and yes, they're milking theirs cash cows.

edit: Actually you're right thrice, it also looks the same...

Bland textures and bad/genric character design, just like in Jak II. Gameplaywise Jak II really was quite terrible, and all signs point to #3 in the series not improving anything.
This is one I definitely won't be getting.

I hope Jak3 will be much harder. Jak2 was way too easy.

You're kidding, right? Jak2 had some of the most stupidly annoying and irritating missions I've ever had the misfortune of playing. I'm surprised I didn't break either the disc or the console itself actually. Now the game sits on a shelf, where it will continue to rest forever. Idiot game... *grumbles*

Hehe, my comment was indeed meant to tease you a little. IMHO Jak2 was a very fair game. I was able to finish most missions at the first try and even when I screwed one up, it was never the game's fault, just mine. The gameplay was very smooth and polished. The hub-world was a lot of fun too, ok the chasing from mission to mission became a little tiresome, but that problem was easily fixed, I've just started to shoot guards and let them chase me to the target location, that helped to spice things up a notch.

Anyway, GameSpot did a video-feature about Jak3 at E3 and Evan Wells demo'd Jak3. He meantioned, that Jak3 will have a dynamic difficulty adjustment system, so here ya go ;)

IMO ,Jak games serie give animation/playability/game mechanics lessons to MOST of the industry...Even if some missions are a bit frustrating difficulty wise.

Gosh... When did Jak2 become a "terrible" game by any standards? It's one of the best games this generation, and up there in its genre... It's still way above MOST other platformers, in any aspect.

Didn't say the game's TERRIBLE, I just happen to believe the missions were designed by a spastic idiot monkey.

Some of them could be a bit throw-controller-accross-the-room-frustrating, yeah, but compared to everything else that's good in the game, i was very happy with it, one of my favs this generation...
And many games have that level of frustration in them, so i can't really complain...

well, finally watched the trailer and I must say, I really can't wait. I enjoyed the challenge of Jak II and loved the technical aspects of it (okay, I the tearing was unnecessary), but everything else was great. I agree, the city backtracking did get on my nerves occasionally, but overall, it was a very good game.

Admittedly though, I much prefered the level design of the first part. Given that this game will be also playing outside the city, I have my hopes high that we'll get some beautiful surrounding (a few are seen in the trailer). So yeah, bring it on! :D

I know you used "unnecessary" because it's a cool long word and it sounds cool, but in all fairness, it WAS actually necessary. It was either that or slowdowns the size of Matrix bullet-time... ;)
