I've got my fingers crossed.

On other events, I hope everybody ostracises Israel and the PA. They're all a bunch of flickwads.

I hereby rank "flickwaddedness": (From biggest to least)

1) Hamas and other like-mided organizations (obvious, I hope, reasons).
2) PA for not standing up to them
3) Isreal, for not standing up to them in the right way
4) Bush Administration for the hypocritical stance in condemning Israel for fighting its war on terror.

I have pretty good hopes about Iran - well, hopes anyway. There are at least democratic elements, and while the religious regime definitely is a suppressive one it isn't nearly as bad as it was in Iraq. Reforms seem to be coming, if only very very slowly. The guy I can't figure out however is Khatami; is he a "good guy" or not? So far I haven't decided if he's just playing for the galleries or if he's really, honestly, trying to reform the country but has a hard time fighting the religious institutions.

Write up just about every country in the world then on that list. Its true of course, but a modicum of diplomacy is important in this day and age.
