Image Quality and Framebuffer Speculations for WIP/alpha/beta/E3 games *Read the first post*

I wouldn't say you can tell that the stop sign is on the ground in PS3 version and though I seems to be missing a tree or 2 and a hole in the ground it also seems to have more bushes. I'm thinking the environment is destructible and those aren't exactly same comparisons because of it.

...there are a few extra details on 360 (stop sign, couple more trees)[

I doubt that becouse you can destroy the environments and it probably is just a case of it already being destroyed as they where taken on 2 different platforms and 2 different servers/situations.

I don't know the road but any trees can be destroyed.

Really? Is this a PC only thing because I do not remember this in any of the console versions I've played.

The pic above shows it.And here is BC1.

The ground in the ps3 version definitely deforms..well in the beta it did.

edit: The demo is available why not just play it. The lighting does seem to be slightly better in the 360 version though.

The lighting difference seems to be just contrast and brightness because you can make it look the same changing those.

Interesting, on picture 2 the 360 version looks terrible in comparison, worse than the 1st Bioshock even. I wonder what happened, they have almost regressed in visual performance on the 360.

I'd wait for better screen caps. If you look at these screens for example, the PS3 version looks a bit blurrier overall:

Note the floor textures.

Yeah I took a look at the other pics, I think they might have mixed up pic#2, because on the other pics the blurriness is flipped the other way around like on the two you mention. This pic for example:

...we know is marked correctly because you can see the low res buffers on the electric effects, so we know the pic on top is indeed the PS3 version. I think I'll wait for the good 'ol Foundry to do their thing.

All of them look fairly similar, barring some minor differences. Better parity than the first game I think, but the 2nd one you noted is extremely blurry (the text Luxury Resort in the middle plant isn't even legible). Bad timing on the capturing perhaps as the textures are streaming?

We'll get better caps sooner than later. The game is out tomorrow

Looks like 720p to me. One of the screenshots (shot 01 around the base of the center structure) shows evidence of 2xMSAA. Seems the normal map for the water surface is also higher resolution. Would like to wait on uncompressed shots though. :) Not sure if they use edge blurring on parts of the scene or if the captures were just... bad. Curiously, the helmet HUD has smoother edges in some shots, not so in others. Compression probably... *shrug*
