Image Quality and Framebuffer Speculations for WIP/alpha/beta/E3 games *Read the first post*

Does anyone think ModernWarfare2 might be actual 720p this time around?

its nice that they are using texture streaming now.

The latest batch of Forza 3 screenshots shows le-mans being included in the game [nice addition]

Well these sure are bulls with 9000*AA..taken from replay camera.
But still the curves look rather too smooth to me, I dont see a single edge there....Is the tessellation doing this big wonders for this game ?

On a side note,
Hi everyone..my first post here :D

So, guys, my friend is trying to say this is a bullshot.

http://images.gamersyde.com/gallery/public/10894/1856_0002.jpg

I'm kinda clinging to T10's "we don't do bullshots", but benefit of the doubt isn't something to give in technical discussions.

He says the blur is too good to be realtime. That they're doing the same thing Polyphony does. And supposedly, he's a game designer.

But the blur does have me thinking twice, so I'm curious.
I just need confirmation.

Motion blur does look very suspicious. Looks too clean for 4xMSAA too. Although, I'm not the most technically inclined person here.

Screenshot tool is rendering to a higher resolution target and then downscaling to give this result. The MB quality would be due to taking a lot of samples as well.

I'm not too technically-inclined either. I know some things, but not all. I'm guessing that means no bullshot. But a well-done resize? Or does the blur send up red flags?

it means it's bullshot, as in not representitive of in-game image quality.

Poly counts and texture detail are kinda unrealistic for a current gen gaming console, too.

Have you been able to analyze the PS3 version, MazingerDUDE?

1120 x 640 QAA with A LOT MORE screen tearings (the frame rate is on far though)

There's one very interesting property about the PS3 version, that all the debris on the ground are indivisually shadow mapped on the PS3 which provides more depth to the ground texture. What's more interesting is that such is not found even on the PC version set to the highest (which is not much anyway)

How strange.

Thanks, though.

I've removed the OT talk about the game. Check the thread title and the OP to remind yourself what level of debate we have here. Thanks.

You guys made an analyze of FM3 PR pics ?.. Che says no touch ups or alterations but you know , he is Che :D... I'd like to know the truth...

Just checked out the PC game. It's odd that it isn't included.

As Prototype (once you do something about the HID device bug with Prototype to make it playable on Vista 64) runs incredibly fast even at 2560x1600 res with all details maxed and 4xAA.

I'm wondering why it wasn't included for the PC version.

And yeah, texture detail leaves a lot to be desired in Prototype even on PC. On the plus side though, the game is a bit addictive. More so than I was expecting.

Regards,
SB
