Image Quality and Framebuffer Speculations for WIP/alpha/beta/E3 games *Read the first post*

is it just me or the 360 version looks jaggier, no AA or lower res like mentioned earlier?

The AA is there looking a the picture (I notice MSAA samples on the edge) but you are right, jaggies are more evident how the less alpha on the ps3 version. I suspect too a lower resolution to the ps3 version but not that much. An another bizzarre particular: in the satellite view the foliage appears the same on both platform...

IIRC Al confirmed a while ago that both versions have the same AA (2xMSAA?) while the 360 version had slightly lower resolution.

The top and bottom black bars are showing up now.
ya its really interesting how much the 360 version evolved from the beta. could tell that prior to the beta seem like they were going to fork the lighting and rendering resolution but ended up with 1280x704 like the ps3 version.

my thoughts on the shots tho.
those power lines looks like the kind of analytically aa they used for hot pursuit.

also noticed one shot with screen tearing so no triple buffering

seems like 2xmsaa, qaa. would explain the full screen blur on ps3.

Something doesn't look right with the horizontal res. Vertical is 720. Looks like some sort of edge filter on both platforms with aggressive edge detection possibly causing excessive blur.

might be just the video compression, if thats true then I hope they will patch the core game to support fxaa. Would be amazing.

Why would they be different? The BR disc certainly has enough storage, HD install is possible, the only possible difference would be the smaller amount of RAM but that can be overcome with a good enough streaming system.
