IGN: Too Human Interivew (New) 03-09-06

It's a different edit, lots of new stuff in there.
  • "an action game with more depth than anyone will imagine",
  • he talks about how it's his dream project like jaffe had gears of war,
  • development is running simultanously on the 1st and 2nd parts of the trilogy,
  • alot about the layers of story telling, some cool tid-bits on the 'sentient weapon'.
  • Really pushing production values, will wow gamer with spectacle and high production values (lesson learned from working with Kojima on MGS),
  • more detail in the combat that most fighting games.
  • many many weapons, not just sword & gun
  • The main character posseses a sword, created from a living sentient machine trapped inside the weapon, very few in the world and very powerful.
  • expect lots of Too Human footage coming 'real soon'
the game has 3 levels of story/depth, 1st is the defense of humanity from this attack from machines & giants, typical man vs machine, 2nd is layer is the exploration of the norse mythology, and 3rd layer they want to explore is what seperates human's from sentient AI, what defines the human soul?

I think the sentient weapons will play a huge role in the story as they look at the beings/machines in the weapons, and contrast them to the human soul

Is there any new video or screenshots in the interview?

These scans look sick! They also describe the control system too.

Seems like it's left thumbstick to move, right thumstick to melee-attack, and R&L triggers to shoot the respective guns(dual wield?), and 'A' to jump. No camera controls, sounds very different.

Really can't tell, the quality of teh shots is horrible. But it looks as impressive as GOW to me, in a different way. I mean, the art styles are completely different, but I get that same level of 'holy crap' when looking at them.

toohuman.net is a decent fansite.

They are both UE3-based games and they are both 3rd persn games(and sci-fi ones at that). The quality of the graphics seems similar to me.

Its hard to tell, I think it may look a bit better, but the pictures are a bit...crap. However with the armor and the third-person perspective you could probably mistake it for GOW if you werent paying enough attention.

Can't wait for direct-feed though.

Depending n how the handle the camera that can make or break the game. When ever I hear that there is no camera control I get very sceptical. I really, really, REALLY hope they will not have any similar camera like MGS2, but them working before with Kojima, I have my fears. It would be really pitty on such a potentially great game...

A close friend of this board has a couple of (better) scans up too.

Still very high hopes for this one...
