I am curious: what *was* that bug in R520 hardware?

    Not that I expect any details, but.... that sucked for ATI, because they had everything ready to go, and had *some* bug somewhere, that took them forever to find and correct.

    Does anyone even have a guess? (AFAIR, they never said what it was)

    According to Dave it was a bug in some third party libraries.

    If my memory serves me well, the bug was reported to be 3rd party libraries related to the (ringbus) memory controller which weren't properly fitting TSMC 90nm process, and had to be fixed.
