How about calling this the advocacy board?

Personally I like this board, and I am not nearly as bothered by heated irrational debate as by the incessant whining about it and people telling me how much better it was in the old days. I dont know how slow some people read, but it has to be that or their total incapacity to ignore something which gives them these issues.

To make everyone happy though why not call this the 3D advocacy board like in the good old Dim3D days, because everything was so much more civilized when we we had wars over PowerVR (<-- inserted for clarification), so people know what they are getting into when they participate here (and what they should not complain about). I would then suggest naming the other board "3D technology and coding".

I resent this growing trend of "rember the good old days" compared to the rampant flame wars we have now.. I read the forums back in the "old days" and there have always been flame wars... They simply were a bit more detailed in the technical arena in the past..

You old timers were all into PowerVR V.s 3dfx.. Now That none of you have a personal stake or interest in ATi Vs. Nvidia you claim foul the posts of today.. Flame wars are flame wars.. You cant have the old ones back.

The difference is then you had 50 people.. now you have hundreds..

I concur, that this forum should be renamed. The 3D technology and Hardware forum now has a lower signal to noise ratio than the Console forum.

nope not scary, product cycle related surely. All the consoles are out now, whilst the new PC product specs are fresh etc.
