I just got my son bundled up all in green, put a silly leprachaun hat on his head, and sent him off to school all happiful. 
I don't really "celebrate" St.Patrick's Day per se as I'm not catholic and I have about as much irish ancestry as any other (I'm a severe mutt and proud ), but I used to love St. Pat's Day for going out bar hopping and just using as an excuse to go and generally have a great time....I don't see any reason to stop the "have a great time" part.
So have a happy one, try to smile when you see a bit of green, and remember that today the Dig dresses in orange...but only since it makes getting into fights so much easier.
