Halo2 gameplay video at Gamespot

If you don't own an Xbox, you need to purchase one as soon possible because this game is gonna make you regret you didn't. Bungie added a new gameplay element that really puts an emphasis on combat evolved.

If my brother doesn't purchase this game, I will for him(for me).

Only problem for me that I noticed is the framerate, it just seemed to be running at the originals framerate. Hopefully its just an early video of the game and hasn't been completely tweaked for a faster framerate.

I would provide a link but I'm not sure everyone has signed for the Gamespot basic account so get your a$$ over there quick.

Why Bungie is taking so much time for Halo2??...It is supposed to come in 2004....That means it would have taken 2 yrs for Halo2...

Are they short staffed??

Did they use the same Halo1 engine or built a fresh one from scratch??

Considering the fact that XB is easiest to develop, it should not take 2 yrs for any game!!

WELL it might be easier to develop graphics for someone with a PC background, but when it comes to MAKING a game, things like physics and AI, not to mention all the artwork and designs, take a lot of time.
saying that the Xbox is easy to develop for is only a quarter of the story. the Xbox doesn't make the game for u....

Amazing stuff though. Bungie can take all the time in the world to create their masterpiece. I feel sorry for those overly sensitive to framerate that won't get to enjoy this incredible game.

i fbungie can take all the time they want to make halo games, i can also wait the time needed for the PC port to be released.

and enjoy improved features, resolution, framerate, controls..

It's too bad that this Xbox thread has been hijacked by PS2 fanboys. :(

sweetie, i'm only saying that i rather play a game with a stable frame rate than one with Halo-like slowdowns, which can be very bad at times... is that too much to expect? and especially, how is that proof of any PS2-fanboism??? jees take it easy, just because i said something against Halo2 doesn't make me a PS2 fanboi...

GT4 and MGS3 threads were also quickly hijacked by xbox fanbois...
Anyway, it's a bit too early to critisize, or praise Halo 2, as all we have is some video which were not sure if it is prerendered, realtime, runing on a high-end PC, on xbox2 or what.

Hypocrite! I remember you being overly sensitive to framerate when you wanted to discredit Goldeneye. But of course this is an XBox game, so its exempt from such complaints right?

We can't say for sure until it's out (and keep in mind when's the last video you saw recorded at 60fps?), but Bungie would be developer of the year if they could get Halo2 running at 60fps.

That lighting model 'aint free, folks. The Xbox is a fine console, but there's only so much you can do.

NO video is recorded at 60fps... and there is just NO way the Xbox can do all that at a stable 60fps. a STABLE 30 fps will be already an achievement for them....

Actually the video is from Joe Staten PLAYING Halo2 on an xbox.

Im not sure why people are expecting (or maybe its only hoping) the frame rate to improve all that much. Were you expecting 60 fps? With THAT kind of visual processing going on? Uh not gonna happen. I'm pretty stunned that they can get those kinds of visuals out of the xbox hardware at 30 fps to be honest.

M$ needs to release a "Xbox FX", an updated xbox with 4xAA and 8xAF always on.

It would help a lot of games, particularly Halo, Halo2, and DOOM3.

Teasy, there's a difference between 30 frames and 10 frames. Anyone who thinks Goldeneye is still actually playable is a fool IMO. Halo made Goldeneye irrelevant.

Halo 2 is the Game of the Show.

After seeing the 8 minutes in-game video, the Nintendo and Sony conferences, I can say that i'm 100% agree with you :).

Not only the awesome graphics of Halo2 kick ass but the improvements in the gameplay too.

Totally agreeing with you. I tried playing Goldeneye one day, it felt incredibly slow. Blowing up storage tanks with the rocket launcher brought the game to a crawl, I felt embarassed to have ever been impressed by that game.

Halo 2 is wow  I'm at a loss of words..
