I haven't finished it yet, but this is the first GTA I have had any interest in finishing.

There are many, many flaws, yet still I find myself playing and enjoying it. The story and characters have kept me interested.

Sometimes the game is breathtakingly beautiful looking. Driving around in the dawn, with some rain, with all the traffic lights still on and everything reflected on the wet ground is simply amazing.

Also, I prefer to do my crimes in the night, easier to get away :) With a good car you can always outrun the cops, even in a straight line, but if there's a lot of traffic then it's very easy to run into someone.

I rented it,played it for about 2 days and then returned it.Still not my cup of tea.
Graphically the overal impression was nice, but nothing special otherwise.

Beat the game and it took about 28hours of playtime. The attention to detail to make the world around you seem alive and interacive is quite amazig. It's a solid game all around but felt like a chore at points going through trivial missions. And this is just talking about the main quest. I perferred Mass Effect's direct storyline and intensity much much more.

Great game, I gave it a 9+. At first I was a little disappointed, the cars handled badly and missions where boring. But after a while it gets beter even though its very similar to the previous games. I love the way the game ended, more games should do this.

Use the Huntley Sport (looks like a fake Range Rover sport) its fast and its a SUV so traffic isn't such a problem, at high speeds most things just get bumped away.

I need good cornering capability as well, so I usually do the jobs with a Feltzer, Sentinel or Schafter (whichever is easier to grab). And sometimes you have to work with what you can get ASAP... I try to stay away from the floaty american cars though :)

One small annoyance is that you can't set the time for meeting with friends, and they tend to call you whem you're just too far to make it there in one game hour (3-4 minutes I guess). For example from the Algonquin safe house to Roman somewhere in Broker, impossible even with a Comet. I've lost quite a few points for being late or saying no, until I've realized that you can simply accept and then call back to cancel. Still stupid though, testing should've revealed that it just doesn't work well.

By the way... where can you find more exotic cars to get for yourself, like Comets or so? I ran into an occasional Turismo or Banshee on the streets but the rest seem to be pretty rare.

Get a taxi and skip the journey, I've never been late.

I do hate how much "importance" has been placed on friends though, when you get to 100% it should stay there no matter what you do. Girlfriends, sure let that drop if need be as it, but not friends.

It's the same as all the other GTA games, if you are in a car of type A (for example a supercar) then you are more likely to see cars of the same type driving around.

In the mission where you get the Inferno, it was the first time I had seen one in the whole game to that point and when I was driving it back to my safe house I passed 10~20 of them.

I have finished the game now and am trying to decide if it's worth getting everything now or starting again playing through letting people live and killing the other option whenever you get to choose to see if it makes any difference to the game or the end.

Yeah, the game seems to have a cap on how many cars it can store in memory at any given time so you'll see a lot of the car you're actually driving. So far so good. But how/where to get a Comet if you don't have one? :)

And friends need attention, at least that's similar to real life. I do wonder what effects GTA4 can has on a young person's view of the world though...

I don't know where you can always get a comet, but I imagine one place to look would be the place you pick one up with for the first race with Brucie.

Its happened a fews times where 1 friend would call me to do something. I accept and before I get there another 1 calls me to do something. So I decline and I get a thumbs down. You only lose 1% so its not to bad. Also if your girlfriend calls and your still cover in blood from your last mission, she'll complain about it. And its all most impossible to change clothes and get there on time.

Sometimes you finish a mission with a wanted rating, and you're being chased and shot and, when suddenly you go into one of those automated mission calls that prevent you from running etc. I've been killed a couple times that way, which is a HUGE pain.

In one mission I had to kills some guy. I go there and kill him, but before I can call back to confirm I killed him I get killed. After that I didn't get a change to re-start the mission so I think its a success. Later I get calls telling me to go kill the guy who it already dead. I had to the mission again to get Niko to call back and comfirm the kill.

In some mission where you have to chase someone to kill him he's actually immortal until he gets to a certain location. And other times he not and if he gets away you have to re-start the mission.

Press down a few times to skip the call, or B to hangup immediately.

There is an exotic car dealership near your safehouse on the middle island that I stole a couple of turismos off the showroom floor. However, I never recalled anything other than turismos.

After the race with Brucie (which I had to do like 5 times because something always happened right near the finished line) the cars you race don't automatically disappear (sometimes they drive off and sometimes they park nearby waiting to despawn when you leave the area). If you get lucky the limited cars in memory flaw will force those cars in the race to spawn near the finish line as regular traffic. After I lost once I simply ran up to one and jack and parked it at a safehouse.

I don't know, I see Turismos quite a lot in the down town area I think the Infernus is more rare. I'm not even sure that car shows up randomly. Are there even any Cheetah's in the game? I have never seen a single one.

Also bikes a pretty damn rare in this game compared to the last 2. In the VC and SA you were practically swimming in them

Yeah, I've been thinking about calling him and entering into one of those illegal races just to simply rob cars ;) Will try next time.

I've had the opposite happen to me, two times at least - I'm in the middle of a shooting, wanted with 1-2 stars, then when I kill the target and get the mission accomplished sound, the wanted status suddenly disappears.
