New arcade board in development by SI Electronics capable of glasses free 3D. Apparantly it uses a low footprint VDP capable of 10GPixel/s.

At least this seems currently relevant. Although it doesn't seem like anything that would revive or lessen the diminishing importance of the arcade scene. Maybe they should try VR again now that there are high resolution small LCDs and less laggy head tracking systems.
