Ghost Recon 3 Advanced Warfighter video

I like the new climb over move shown in that video. The game should turn out to be the best Ghost Recon yet, and thats saying a lot considering how great the previous games are.

Ghost Recon for the 360 has been delayed until next year if the rumors are true.

I thought GR3 was launch window.. and not launch day
IGN says launch day.

I hope the game allows at least 12 players for co-op like with Summit Strike. On some missions it was needed.
In the article they note that the 4 (four) COOP levels are specifically designed for such and allow 4 players through link or online; 16 players for MP.

The same (four) was said for Summit Strike. It was a pleasant surprise that so many could play co-op together. I guess we'll have to wait until the game releases to know for sure.

I was thinking the same thing. I am not sure these are all launch titles, but they appear to all be launch window games:

(Racing)
PGR3
Test Drive
NFS
Full Auto

(FPS)
PDZ
CoD2
Quake 4
Condemned
GR3

(RPG)
Oblivion
FFXI

(Adventure/Platform)
Kameo
King Kong

(Sports)
NBA2K6
NBA Live
Madden NFL Football
Amped
Top Spin
FIFA

Out of those I am keeping my eye on Kameo, Oblivion, PGR3, PDZ, CoD2, and the sports titles as possibly "Good to Great" games. i.e. stuff 8.5 in a review or better. PDZ may fail, but it also may have some KILLER gameplay. CoD2 and Oblivion appear to be on a good pace for 8.5+ titles. Kameo has turned into one of my favorite titles, and PGR3 is a just a killer game IMO (as long as it plays well, which early indications from today is that it plays great).

GR3, Quake 4, Condemned, Test Drive, and maybe Kong are wild cards. Quake 4 could be very good (or more Doom 3 action). Kong could be a good upgraded port. Condemned and Test Drive (MMO Racer?) could be really good or really bad.

A poor GR3 showing will have some hard competition. Overall it looks like the Xbox 360 launch is going to have a bit of everything. Definately one of the best launches I have ever seen.

Ya exactly. I mean the whole launch window is now basically 4 weeks, 22nd to the 25th, so it's pretty much meaningless, anything 'launch window' is essentially launch, 3 or 4 weeks is nothing.

So it's a boatload of kick-ass games all within 1 month, any game that's not top-notch is going to have a real hard time selling.

GR3 kinda lucks out since it has almost no competition in that Genre though, so maybe the fans of the squad-based military games will take it. I certainly won't go near it if it looks like those videos though, GR is not exactly king of gameplay, I was buying this one mainly for graphics...WAS being the operative term!

btw: I think Full Auto has been pushed back, I heard they were worried about saturating the racing market, rightfully so.

btw part Deux: You're forgetting "Gun" as a widl card. Activision is claiming this will be the biggest hit of 2006, I think it's a launch window game, it sounds like a blast but the GFX are looking very weak. We'll see!

I saw one gameplay of ghosts (taken from "insider ign") and it is very, very bad. Like version for nintendo ngage or something. Did we mistake pc version for X2 version?

Your are right I seen the samehing. It looks horrible. I never would have thought I would agree with you Lysander but I am now. This game looks bad.

1up has a hands on preview for GR3 and they seemed to have liked it. They seemed to imply in the article that physics will play a bigger role in this game. They used an example of shooting through a wall or something like that and having the wall break apart. Even if the graphics may not be what I was expecting having a more interactive environment like this is will definetly add a lot to the gameplay.

That looks like a LOT of fun.

Big map and not one of these artificial "DM" maps. Observe the terrain and adjust to the world. Seemed very natural.

Graphics looked passable (could be great... hard to tell). I like the reload animations, rolling, etc... The really wide fire cone was odd (why not switch to a better firing mode and/or snipe?).

Anyhow, this MP seems to have promise. Looked very FarCry like... although I must admit I did not see the nice overlapping FC beach wash. It could be there and more subtle... I hope so because it looked great in FC.

They raised my hopes on this one again. Hopefully they release when it is DONE.

My guess would be that he didn't have a sniper rifle.

meh.. where do you see this is a 60% build?
IGN confirmed the version at X05 was only a 60% build. (From the first page of this thread):

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/655/655875p1.html

The game ran at a rough 60 FPS, but the slow movement and collision detection on many obstacles slowed down the game's feel, and if you add the regular, methodical pace of Ghost Recon in there in this 60% compete build, and it all adds up. Don't get me wrong. The game is indeed fun, but this early build made use our imagination a little more. The game we played was neither anti-aliased nor was it optimized. So, come launch and it should look spanking good.

From the administrator of XBOXYDE.com:

"Before the bitching/nitpicking starts, let me just remind people that this is a one month old build of a game that will be released in 4 months.
Actually it's the very first really playable build, and it's missing a lot of graphical effects and features. Not even mentioning the numerous bugs and missing collision stuff. The E3 build was rather special in the sense that it had most of the graphical effects, but was totally scripted and could do nothing than what was shown (at least that's what I understood). They did not have time to prepare a special build for X05 so they just used that "stable" build."

I dunno about that -- the MP map on the island looked fun. The only negative I saw was the really poor aiming reticle. But the layout (realistic) and gameplay seemed like a very intelligent FPS and the animations for rolling and reloading were nice.

The stuff I saw I liked, it just needs more time. If they can reach the visual quality of their original demo (I doubt, but they indicate yes as it was just scripted and that is why we have seen the same video a number of times at different visual quality levels... call me a doubter) AND really clean the game up and make the gameplay solid then I would think it could be a good title.

So seeing some actual gameplay has me interested--especially with the delay to refine it. Before the MP video I was not interested at all.

ow..the vibe I get from this game is that the gameplay is pretty much the same of games we all know but with far better graphics..(that's what I thought before X05 anyway) So therefore I'm disappointed.
