They probably changed it. The wall texture is not the only thing that they have changed in the pic. Look at the soldier. Some things are changed. Didn't you guys notice that?
yea i said that at the start. He has a diffrent back pack .

Most likely ram requirements. Easier to make them all have the same equpment . Or it can be from a lower res pc model .

Remember most pc boards only have 256 megs of graphics ram right now . Even the 7800gtx has 256

The question is does the render target version have those other textures ?

Did they just change one texture to another ?
How do we know?

I haven't read any interviews that have questioned Ubisoft about this matter. So it has yet to be answered. :\

well sorry to seem that i am attacking you, but..... aren't 256mb enough to have different equipment? you must be kidding me....

come on.... this is getting to the point of ridiculous.

i guess my 9800pro 128mb is doing the impossible playing UT2004 with 20 players having each one a different skin/model.

the game its not finished and thats it. I would be more concerned about the low qual lighting by this time of the championship (dead-line for lauch) than the textures in the wall and characters.

Do I look like the developer ?

The x360 will have acess to more compression schemes than the pc and it looks like in the majority of pc engines they don't have a normal map compression scheme employed on all hardware .

At what complexity lvl ?

lighting just needs hdr turned on and depending on the video card used for the presentation i.e x800 they might not have had hdr capable hardware .

Your right its not finished. And your right there are reasons why the textures aren't there . I mearly gave a few .

oh no, HDR does not do some of the things missing in that picture...

about the "ram" argument, go play games....

Yes hdr does do some of the things missing in that picture .

If you disagree why don't u inform us whats missing that hdr will not do .

As for ram. I play many games .

My point is perfectly valid .

That fist picture is old, that's all there is to it. It was one of the first ones they were showing in magazines before E3. Whether it's realtime or a target image... does it really matter? The latest media show exactly what the game looks like.

its the way around.. the first one is the new one and runing in real-time.
The second one is the older one as a render-target launched by the developers them self.

it does "some"

light crossing the trees onto the floor its not HDR in my observation. HDR blooms the light that already is there. I cant see sh*t in the floor of the real-time picture.

well if you read the other thread about this u would know thats mearly the time the shot is taken as a few seconds later in the video the light is going through the trees.

You can even see it in the first page of this thread .
graw1.jpg

as you can see later in that scandalous video only a couple seconds you can see how the light goes through the trees and it could have been as simply as the trees swaying

like i said, check if theres any closer to the character... check the guy in his knees in both pictures.
HDR does not do all the difference in lighting....

anyway, pointless... the game as alot missing yet. it might just be a ground texture simulating the shadows.

We've had this convo before dunno why acert decided to start it all again in this thread .

Because the other was flaming and had no real information?

This thread has links to recent information about there being 2 versions with differences PLUS more screenshots. This thread also has a different point... trying to see i

And if this site is to be believed, there are 3 versions!!

http://www.ghostrecon.com/uk/newspost.php?id=11948

yes ther eis 3 and we've already discussed the diffrences between the two . What you posted is from a render that was sent out . From those shots the main diffrence between x360 and pc version is the lack of hdr .

Talk about excessive lighting...

I think the light means Jesus is coming!!

The Xbox version (from the link Acert gave) seems very dated compard to the 360 and PC. Also..the 360 version seems muddy in those screenshots. The screenshot above is from the PC version (Which looks very sharp by the way)...I wonder if its because of the High Resolution+Progressive picture the PC can reach?.

What????

If you are going to post PLEASE at least use some proper grammar so people can understand you. It is a laid back forum... but posting basically incoherant blurbs with no actual dialogue makes it hard to understand what you are saying...

1. Do you know it is a render? Proof? Link?
2. We discussed 2 screen shots before... now there are 3.
3. There are more differences than HDR...
4. And that assumes that we know what versions are which
5. The Xbox, Xbox 360, PC - 3 versions - is new to me. I do not remember any threads mentioning all three or having content of all three
6. Again, the other post was bogged down by trolling and got way off topic

Anyhow, since you seem to have answers... I am curious where you get your information what pic is a render. Official links would be nice.

(Yes, I am asking for links because there is a mass of confusion full of OPINIONS about what is what... mainly caused by Ubi releasing the same general shots but in different quality... and the quality has gone down... so was it render targets or something else? Please tell if you have a link that explains this mess)

1) read the other thread on this subject. Its clear that you didn't

2) What third screen shot ? In the last thread on this we discused the video in which you can clearly see another 2 seconds into the video that many of the diffrences disapear and they are closer in quality to each other

3)And they are talked about in the other thread . Some of the diffrences disapear as said on point 2 a few seconds later in the video that the shot is taken from. Things like the light going through the trees .

4)we know the video that has the hdr is from a media package and is not rendered on the pc or xbox 360 according to people who had the media package

5)Its been known for a long time http://xbox.ign.com/objects/736/736207.html since march

6) it still doesn't mean your points weren't addressed there. You could have at least read the thread and excluded things that were already talked about and settles . Instead we are rehashing the same things that got the thread closed

Anyhow, since you seem to have answers... I am curious where you get your information what pic is a render. Offici
al links would be nice.
You seem to have a great knowledge of the other thread. So i'm sure you already know where this answer comes from .

Thats where I was confused also. I remember seeing the video and going "wow". But after seeing recent pics, I was wondering what had happened. The link you gave puts..sorta..everything in their place....the 360 pics look kinda off though.

Please check your behavior at the door. The point of this thread was already explained and it is different. If you wish not to participate fine. But ATTACKING and false statements are beyond the rules of this forum.

You were once a mod and you are familiar with the rules.

2) What third screen shot ?

gr3sux5mb.jpg

All three are different. This is on the FIRST PAGE of this thread.

3)And they are talked about in the other thread . Some of the diffrences disapear as said on point 2 a few seconds later in the video that the shot is taken from. Things like the light going through the trees .

There are almost a dozen differences from the same perspective. One being that at the exact same place in the game the shadows are different.

That still does NOT explain--officially--the differences. You are still subjectively speculating.

4)we know the video that has the hdr is from a media package and is not rendered on the pc or xbox 360 according to people who had the media package

Link? How many times must I ask for a link?

5)Its been known for a long time http://xbox.ign.com/objects/736/736207.html since march

And that link says:

In 2013, the U.S. Army will implement the Integrated Warfighter System evolving what we know as the modern soldier. IWS combines advanced weapon systems, satellite communication devices and enhanced survivability into one fully integrated combat system. The IWS program has been developed to meet these new threats head on. Now, it can be tested on the battlefield.

In Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3, players will embody Captain Scott Mitchell as he commands the Ghosts and Special Forces allies equipped with the IWS in the quest to save the president of the United States, recover stolen nuclear codes and eliminate a vicious band of renegade soldiers hell-bent on unleashing catastrophe. The game unfolds entirely in Mexico City, where numerous, meticulously researched and detailed environments will deliver complete immersion into the future of urban warfare.

Is this a joke? That says NOTHING about what we are talking about!

6) it still doesn't mean your points weren't addressed there. You could have at least read the thread and excluded things that were already talked about and settles . Instead we are rehashing the same things that got the thread closed

And indeed they were not addressed there.

And again, I did read the thread. If you go back and read it you will see I posted in it.

Nothing was settled less YOUR opinion. I am asking for facts and not the trolling mess in that thread.

You seem to have a great knowledge of the other thread. So i'm sure you already know where this answer comes from .

Again, if you have nothing to participate to the thread in actual information then please stop verbally assaulting/belittling people.

Nothing was settled, no confirmations were made, and if you review this thread I am NOT the only one with questions.

This thread is NOT about "it is early, give it time". The question is technical (i.e. what media is from what platform) and about the nature of the E3 footage and what we can expect from the final product based on what Ubi has shown--and if possible get information DIRECTLY from Ubi themselves for confirmation.

If you do not want to contribute to such a discussion that is ok.

Just don't pretend to have all the answers when you are unwilling to provide a link to verify your stance. Your opinion is no more important than anyone else.
