FOTR super duper extended edition collectors series, when???

Anyone know when the the full series extended edition super duper collectors series is coming out? Not sure what they plan on calling it, but Ive resisted the urge to buy the dvds until the i can get the whole thing. Also anyone know what might be added??

I've heard that it will be about five hours long, including the deleted Saruman scenes, should be released in October.

I would expect that the box set will be just like the ones they've already released in the four DVD sets that look like books, extended movie with redone soundtrack, making of, directors commentary, etc. They will probably just put them all in one box.

The extended versions are IMNSHO better than the theatrical edits.

I consider the theatrical versions of the LotR movies just glorified trailers of the real thing, the extended versions.

I'd sure love some big ass collector box thingy of the extended versions of all three movies and a shitload of bonus material and nerdy, stupid little gimmicks.

We've seen it before in other box sets, where all the films are the same boxes and packaging as the earlier, single "director's cut" release, just all put into another box.

Considering the first two etended films come in matched formats and packaging, I think you'll find the third one will also be matched, and you'll just be buying all three of them inside another pack.

There may be some kind of "limited edition in a tin with poster" kind of thing, but the price will be silly for the addition of a different box, especially if you are primarily interested in the movies. Even then, I wouldn't be surprised to see if inside it all was just the current extended versions.

Yeah, Id really really really want an all in one box set, with plenty of goodies. Just a poster wont do it. Complete figures of all major characters. More extended footage not included in EE. All footage from oscars/golden globe/... related to FOTR. May be some poster and what nots. Might be worth a upto 150$. And this is from a guy who has never ever bought a cd or dvd in his life.
