So, I'v had some time with Forza 5 now. This is some of my thoughts on it.
I'll start with the negative / what needs improving (all IMO of course)
The missing social aspect that was in Forza 4 (Car clubs, marketplace for cars, tunes and liveries, but supposedly a marketplace is coming, so there is still hope on that front)
Number of tracks. Now, i do understand their point about the time and resources required to remake the tracks in the quality they wanted, but I think they would have dodged a lot of the negative press/reactions if they had included all the tracks from Forza 4 (that are not remade) in their original quality (in essence just upscaled from Forza 4), but I guess that would take away their chance for track DLC at a later time, witch brings me to my next point.
Micro transactions, there is way to much focus on this sadly. You certainly are not required to use them, but almost every menu screen presents you with an option to boost your xp and to buy tokens for car purchases. But as I said, no need to use it and with the Forza Rewards program I certainly have enough cash (almost 9 000 000 at time of writing this)
Well, that is my biggest negative things I can think of at this time.
So, for the things I like / see great potential in.
Driveatars as AI opponents. I like this, it offer for most of the time a far greater challenge the the AI of previous Forza games and I'v had quite a few races that were nail biting right up to the finishing line. That said, I think it still need some work because at the start of every race there is a big risk of getting ram'ed by another car/AI and that can get annoying real quick (its not a big problem when the field opens up). So what I hope to se in the future is some better crash avoidance systems/algorithms.
The new tracks. I like them all, with Prague and Spa being my favorite two. Look forward to racing online with my Forza Club members as soon as they all get their Xbox One's (so far 2 of us has imported from Germany, release date in Norway is according to most online shops in July 2014)
The fact that tuning a car is almost identical to Forza 4. The only real difference I have found is the point were the breaks lock up when driving with ABS of. But I got accustom to it quite quickly, so not a problem.
The handling/feedback/feeling (of the car) is pretty much the best I have experienced in any racing game I have ever played. Very satisfying to get good setup on a car and literally hear and feel how all the little changes you make to the setup changes the handling and feeling of the car and how it changes the feedback it gives you (the sound of the tires griping the road and the rumble triggers)
The graphics. In my opinion the best looking console racer out there at the moment.
There are of course other small things I like/dislike, but I don't won't to ramble on to much
Well there is one more thing. Not having The Nurburgring included from the start, WTF were you thinking Turn 10
, but on the other hand, nothing really compares to driving around The Ring in your own car
Nurburgring Lap. My best lap time
