Stop trying to put words in people's mouth. This thread is already bad enough without you trying to provoke PC-Engine, who by the way evidently doesn't need any provoking to start trolling anyway, not sure if you noticed.
You're absolutely right, next time i'll just ignore him, i apologise.

This is the best looking next gen game to me. Not only the graphics but the setting and the fact that Snake is so old is just awesome.

DMC4 comes in close second then RE5.

oh god, these are just scans and everyone's getting all worked up already. for all we know it could be shots taken from a cgi demo (most unlikely though).

it looks great to me. not killzone cgi great but great non the less. definitely on par with RE5.

It's definitely realtime, it is confirmed by Kojima in the article, saying that it will be part of the footage they will show during TGS and that will be the graphical quality that we will actually be playing game at..
What I really learned from next generation games is that we can't really tell anything until the game is in motion...lol...screenshots don't really do any justice..I won't be wowed until they show actual footage 2 days later.

I swear, it's 2000 all over again. Kojima really knows how to stir the pot with a first next-gen MGS :D

I won't even bring up comparisons with other games. Nothing touches this IMO, be it down to art, technology, whatever (both in this case).Whatever about anything else, the Octacon model alone probably looks as good or better than the models in the Killzone vid IMO (I say probably because I remain cautious with scans):

Judging by those pics I actually think Octacon looks better.

I absolutely can't wait for the trailer, MGS games always manage to outdo themselves in motion.

IGN has info from the Famitsu article here (don't think it was posted?):

Just a guess.
Mag pics are in game screens running on early dev kits,ie underclocked Cell, 6800 Ultras etc....

Basing this on timeframe. I just don't think they have gotten the new kits in time to actually put them to work

No-one should realy be saying this game looks amazing or not as all we've seen are really low grade scans! For all we know the actual in-game graphics are riddled with jaggies which these scaled down pics hide, or these are closeups covering only 1/16th of the screen.

And l-b - I am the Jeremy Paxman of the gaming forum world! I don't give up pressing for a straight answer from those who befuddle the public with crazy assertions and a total unwillingness to commit to an answer. It's in them failing to reply with a straight answer that their arguments are proven to be bunk, because they can't actually argue them.

I think I was the first person to state that the scans looked like aretwork as opposed to realtime.

Someone else posted that RE5 was cgi trailer and teh ingame wont be as high poly modeled. I fully expect the same thing for this game but it indeed does look great as is.

Interestingly enough, my desktop background has what I beleive to be an in-game shot of Gears of War with a Gear shooting at a Huge Monster. That shot honestly looks better than this does right now... but if you like MGS then it doesnt matter anyway.*shrug*

"The shots revealed in the magazine are images running on actual PS3 hardware, and as impressive as they are, they will get better, according to Kojima's comments."

And they have no choice but to right? I mean compared to the real PS3, the alpha kits are really underpowered. I can't wait until TGS!!

So now we know what it looks like. But what will he do to the things we can't see? Thinking back to his earlier comments, I wasn't expecting to see graphics as good as these. So what exactly is he doing with the things we can't see? :)

Yeah, and your comments even further derail a thread already up in flames. Great job. Just ignore the flames

Trolls and Troll Name Calling

What not to do: One of the worst thing to do, when you consider someone's post to a troll/disturbance to the forum, is to actually reply to this post and start calling out for troll.

...

What to do: Just ignore the trolls, and point them out to the moderators with the Report Bad Post button.

Yeah, Kojima has said the priority is on how things move and behave, basically, rather than how things purely look.

I think we're going to see some really great animation and environmental behaviour in the trailer. The artwork from the scans shows a battletorn city..thinking back to the E3 teaser, we had a building blow up, leaving just a wall to collapse..

..so I really really really hope we get to see some of the "outside", the city, in the trailer, and some of that "natural" movement :)

I wouldn't say that. The thread's about MGS4 screenshots and short of saying 'ooOOOoo, pretty' or 'huh!' what more is there to such a thread without comparing it to other games, and considering what work the graphics engine is doing?

And regards pointing PC-E out as a troll he hasn't really been a troll in stating his opinion. I've said of screenshots I don't think much of them but I ain't trolling, and it's not as though he was dissing a platform as RE5 is headed for PS3 too. I guess he's occupying a sort of limbo where what he does, as infuriating as it is and as much aggro it raises, isn't actually flaming or making crazy statements against a platform. He argues without merit/logic which drive people nuts but I don't know that that is a trollable offense. Perhaps there should be a forum policy that people have to answer straight questions with straight answers?

Bye Bye Xbox 360

Hello MGS 4 and real time Killzone...

Like Sony say dont underestimate the power of the Playstation...

EDIT: I've seen mckmass and onetimeposter (hasamasd) banned for single posts that really didn't disrupt a thread. Yet, PC-Engine gets no flack for derailing a entire thread? How is that? Must have some type of hook up or something....

Hear, hear.
