Yea real difficult to make impressive graphics when you have 2 characters on the screen, WAY TO GO EA!

ps3 e3 demo? Maybe they've done it better in the demo, I don't know.
But I haven't seen one punch, or anything, having the same detail and smoothness as the e3 demo.
Atlhough, I do think the models seem smoother, more polygons that is, but it can't compensate the lack of everything else.
Background was quite nice too with all those people, but still.
    :)

Judging from the videos, the animation is good but a little jerky. ( seems that's some keyframes are skipped )
Nevertheless, you have to keep in mind that ps3 demo wasn't gameplay, you still have to make concession in such games if you want to have a solid gameplay. You still have to think you have only 10 buttons on your controller.
Is it motion capture used for this game ?

And while they're at it, put in collision detection for the arms, so that boxers' arms don't pass through each other...

I just find it looks like FNR2 with a graphics upgrade and some more boxers. All of the punch animations look almost exactly the same, like they reused them. I've read that there are more fighting stances though, so we'll see how that works out.

hehe, you don't get it do you??If it's not the graphics it's the animation or the A.I or the "art" or.......
There's always has to be something "wrong" with every xbox360 game, that's just the way it is ....

Anyway,it's really sweet to play a game right now with the graphics that as a ps3 demo impressed so many people at E3*hugs his xbox360*

In the fan boy world it is a 360 issue, both sides are guilty of it. But to a normal gamer, it's strictly a game issue. Just like Madden. Nice graphics, but old animations. We want more, we are greedy S.O.Bs and won't be satisfied until we see a change. I'd still rag on EA's games if this was the PS3. Believe me, if EA doesn't improve it's animations for the PS3 versions, I will not buy them. I will not pay 10 dollars more for a graphic upgrade.

It's not because it's 360. It's because it uses the same animation that's on the PS2's FN2. I bet the PSP verison will have the same animation as both next gen verisons.

first impression was wow! then after awhile as im watching replays and stuff, it looks rather silly, and a lot of body going through the other guys arms. its like, the boxers are twitching.. jerky animation. anyways, looks SILLY.

The thing that impressed me about what they showed in the E3 vid was the quality of the animation. It looked somewhat like real boxing. I doubt the PS3 version is going to look like that now. Maybe FN4 will be of what I'm looking for. I had a lot of fun with round1&2, but round3 looks like more of the same, and isn't enough to convince me to buy a really expensive console.

you guys are crazy, you can never have flawless animation when the user is controlling it.

Take the best animated game on earth, tap 'up' very quickly on the controller, it looks like total and complete garbage.

Your expectations for next-gen must be low then. I want better animation than what the PS2 can do.

Certain ones are but that isn't the point. It's when you turn discussions into console vs console when they aren't. It's like you are looking for an argument when there isn't one. If you want to discuss how you think the animations in FN3 are fine and dandy be my guest, just leave consoles out of it. Talk about the game.

I'm not looking for flawless animation scoob. I'm looking for next gen animation and this isn't it. Graphics are fantastic IMO but I just not seeing that same leap with animations from EA at this point.

ahave you seen the game's new combo system? the new close-up camera angle with motionblur, and speedy combo's? That right there is completely new.

I dunno, I'd suggest waiting until you see a skilled player use all the new techniques before saying it's the same animations as PS2. It's not.

As far as I can see they re-used the block animation, i.e. when you get stunned, but everything else is basically different. Footwork is totally different, haymakers are new, punches may be the same but the new combo's are definately new.
